That’s too broad a category though. You know that. “Wing upgrade” can mean a bunch of things. Beyond that Panarin is an extended rental. I don’t recall seeing an extended rental as part of the OP. In any event your trade proposals are always heavily stilted in favor of the Rangers. You should be realistic and you’d have plenty of good discussion instead of the pushback you so often get.

that's really a kind offer. if you value panarin so highly i have a special offer for you:

hamilton for kakko and cuylle (the rangers could really use some puck moving cabability on the backend)
we can also add two 3rd picks from the devils and three 2nd picks from the rangers. should be perfectly fair as 2x3=3x2

No Bread. Devils fans remember the last PO series between the two teams, when Panarin was a complete no show. We have a cheaper and younger version in Bratt who brings similar elements.

Some fans envision a team with 6 bonafide Top 6 forwards alongside our d-core. I have no problems with playets like Noesen, Palat, Haula, Mecer or Cotter complementing Hughes/Bratt and Hischier/Meier. What the Devils really need is a 3C who doesn't look completely out of place when either Hughes or Hischier is not available. But in the cap area every team has a hole or two.

Nemec, Casey and Silayev should nicely fit in when Kovacevic (cap), Hamilton (cap, regression), Dillon (age) phase out.

panarin is part of a loser core that just saw their captain traded and is on the verge of an extreme shakeup. i want no part of that in nj.

i also see no glaring need to trade mercer. he’s buying into keefe’s system and playing well despite a lack of production. i’d rather just keep what we have for the time being.

The OP wanted to trade Mercer plus for an upgrade. I’m not seeing that as two top prospects for Panarin. But if you want to rise above the garden variety discussion here pairing your own version of a somewhat one sided trade that you justify for your team isn’t really the way to go. How about Mercer for Chyil and Kakko? That allows the Rangers to get rid of damaged goods and a near bus! The Rangers should be falling all over themselves to take that deal!! So stuff like that doesn’t really move the needle for anyone

Mercer is a quality get but Rs, who can offer elite level upgrade in Panarin for this season and next, while retaining max half, are flexible about who is added for cap balance. Howev, prime core of the deal has to be Nemec and Silvayev.

Granted that's a lot, but then again, bread is elite

I rather be waterboarded while watching highlights from the 2013-2017 Devils than give the Rags 2 good defensive prospects for the next decade in a trade for the exact opposite winger we're looking for in Panarin for Jack/Bratt.
