His trade request will be coming shortly, no worries, we will have another 200+ page thread discussing this mediocre forward soon enough
PLD sure as heck didn't look mediocre against the Habs. Big boy dominated the ice every time he stepped on. Picked up two apples too -- he made the goal on the 1-0.

HFhabs: I had Nemec/Jiricek at 1st in 2022 and we picked this f***ing goof!.

HFhabs in 2023 : How the f*** do we pick a dman in a loaded draft at forward, and a second pairing dman.

Reality : Reinbacher is better than both Nemec and Jiricek and he is also looking better, in my humble opinion, than Levshunov and Dickinskon who are the top Ds in 2023.
Reality. You're not even watching the kid you you can't know what kind of traniwreck in defence he is right now In last 5 games 1 secondary and 3 primary assists to opponent's goals.
Let see what he did yesterday:
DAV 4-3 EHC | Davos - EHC Kloten
0:04 Game starts, first minute, Reinbacher from the board passes the puck to Davos player in the middle who serves his teaammate to score
1:52 Reinbacher wins the puck battle behind his goal, then he makes a perfect pass to an opponent stick who shoots and scores and says, Thank you David !!

Yet, without even watching him play you deduce he is batter than Jiricke, Nemac, Levshunov?

If Reinbacher was picked at 25OA and playing top pairing, 20mins+ a night in the NL, and at .37 PPG without PP time on a bad team we'd be talking about him like the next Roman Josi.

In terms of our "options":

Leonard's D+1 production is solid but not impressive in the NCAA. Simashev has done very little to change his projection. Danielson is below PPG in the WHL. Dvorsky looks solid in the OHL but hasn't really addressed the skating issue. Willander has been okay but uninspiring at BU from what I've seen. Benson scored a nice first NHL goal but hasn't really changed his projection as a smart but small/slow, two-way winger. Yager looks the same as last year. Wood is currently at a lower PPG than in his draft year.

Finally... there's nothing surprising about what Michkov is doing in the KHL. Same team, same usage, same issues, slightly better production. Still couldn't make the big team, still don't know whether he would have wanted to play here, still a small one-way winger. Wish we could have had both but that's not how it works.
I know a lot of people who have a good track record with prospects say Reinbacher's play since his return from injury has been terrible. They usually know what they are talking about. I have never seen him play myself.

I would have took Leonard. I see a physical 30 goal scorer. A Rick Tocchet type. I know Arizona would have taken Reinbacher at 6. That doesn't affect me.

The Russian I never took because of the Russian factor and unknown around Michkov. But his father's death imagine had a great affect in him. Takes awhile to recover from such a shock. I never considered this enough

Yay!!! He must be on pace for 45 points now. The Habs suck, surprise, surprise, PLD looked good against a crap team with nothing on the line.

I heard Pierre Luc Dubois wanted to become a hab and this is why he is struggling with LA . If he comes home hé becomes a 40 goal 80 points minimum scorer and would be a bargain .

His time in Columbus, peg and la only proves how much he wants to come home . Come on Hughes make it happen :)
I remember the wringing of hands when he was available, the next French Canadien superstar. Those that didn't want him were thought of as less than. Emotional hype.

I don't follow the European Leagues, but I don't understand your point: So he's a bad pick because of few bad games after an injury that happened after the draft? Please explain.

Hey, i watched him play plenty and plenty of times. I had Reinbacher right after the big 3, above Smith.

Not because we don't share the same hockey opinions i don't watch him.

I don't deduce he is better than Jiricke, Nemac. I think its pretty easily seen. But okay.

Levshunov is another debate.

Nope. You don't watch him.
If you do you'd write down he has a horrible season and isn't a half player he was in his draft year. Is it injury induced or a bad team is dragging him down or he is simple a liability in defence with a puck on his stick, we don't know. Thing is, right now the is serving goals to opponents game after game and is regressing big time.
We can only hope it something that will pass quick cause if it isn't don't expect him in Habs dress in near future.

Clearly I do, but I don't close my eyes when he serves goals to his opponents like dinner on a plate, which is a thing you obviously ignore if by any chance you're watching the kid.
But hey, maybe you think that horrible defensive plays are a good thing. A man can never know,

Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me.

Unless PLD is putting up big numbers there won't be a lot of interest to bring him to MTL at that cap hit. For example, there is interest to get the Mantha contract, either if we get a pick or if we get to send a bad contract the other way. But the interest isn't a frenzy just because he's a French Quebecer.

Why the Reinbacher hate?
It's not hate but just a fact that Reinbacher right now is a trainwreck in defence.
Kid "scored" more points for the opponents than for his own team. 3 primary and one secondary assist for opponents in last 5 games.

If this is true, we are in big trouble...
Well, look at videos I posted in his topic and see for yourself.

He's having a stretch of bad games after returning from injury. I wouldn't worry unless he's still doing this in a few months.

Wow, this is brutal, hopefully it's a confidence issue and not low on ice awareness...

Reinbacher was better defensively as a 17-18 years old than Mailloux is now.

Not the same tier at all.
And how would you know? At 17-18 he was playing in 2nd swiss league.
You were watching him carefuly vs Olten Thurgau, Visp...?
It's good to see that even 2 years ago Habs fans were watching him in 2nd league. Even then they already knew he's a Hab !!!

Right now he has problem dicserning between his own teammates and his opponents and also being with a puck as a last man in NZ or his own zone it's a risk.
