Don't want to statwatch, but 1 point (empty netter) in 5 games seems like poop.

He played 4 games, really. The other one he got injured after 3-4 minutes.

To analyze his play this year, you have to watch him. His team is really bad, they won 7 games in 21 games played. So the points are really not the best way to see if his game gets better. Their ‘’best’’ dman has 3 points in 16 games

I don't care about pts, if fans expect an offensive dynamo they will be deceived. I want to see hits, close gap and being a force defensively

in the games i've seen he's not very physical at all but it's the offense that impresses me, he can move the puck. He's struggled defensively but also shows that with his frame, mobility he's able to cover a lot of ground quickly and unlike say Norlinder who is very passive, Reinbacher won't hesitate as he's aggressive like Struble. Once he shakes off the rust, I would expect him to look much better.

Yes there was, and people need to stop discrediting him. Michkov is an offensive dynamo. It's getting tiresome to read people throw shade on the kid when all he does is dominate everywhere he plays.

And it's tiresome to have him continually be brought up. They decided Reinbacher was the player and person they wanted to select.

Now their job is to find someone in the top end of this draft who can bring first line offense to the team and it's looking likely they'll be able to do that and looking less likely they'd have been able to find a RD with all the qualities that Reinbacher possesses.

I'm not opposed to the Reinbacher pick and, as much as I passionately wanted Michkov on draft night, I never criticized Reinbacher himself.

I was simply responding to an erroneous statement. I brought him up because the poster made a false claim about the draft and the players that were available. I just don't get why some people have to justify the Reinbacher pick by flippantly discrediting Michkov.

I don't know but it's probably because of how toxic it was and can still be around here. It wasn't a pleasant place to be here when Michkov wasn't picked and rightly or wrongly, people will push back in hyperbole in the other direction as well.

That is all assuming that one offensive pick will be enough… lol

Why wouldn't it be?

They already have Dach, Suzuki and Caufield. Newhook will likely develop into a cromulent 2nd line winger. Slafkovsky continues to show that his development is coming along slowly but that there's certainly a top 6 forward with size in there.

There's plenty in the system with Mesar, Roy and Farrell to name 3 that have the abilities to play in a top 9. If Joshua Roy was anywhere else the wrist slitting would be insane.

Haha that’s funny. lol not sure if serious or if you are only pushing management’s pr agenda…

Reality check:
Once Michkov burns the NHL… it will get much worse, so you should prepare management that not picking Michkov will probably never go away.

It will not get worse if we get our own offensive player in this years draft and we've built a contending defense on the back of Guhle-Reinbacher as corner stones on either side of the ice. Especially as we watch teams with 2-4 of the best offensive players in the league unable to get out of the first round.

Pretty crazy to believe there are people diminishing michkov lol seems everywhere you go on social media it’s a michkov love fest

as it should be tbh he’s a great player but he’s hardly being criticized by anyone

I haven't seen anyone diminishing Michkov outside of some jokes.

He's not our prospect and we are in D+1 and like 2 months into it.

Till this day, I still prefer Michkov to Reinbacher. But, I'm sure Reinbacher will bring a lot to this team and will be invaluable part of our rebuild/future success. It's gonna take time but Reinbacher seems like a very good top 2 dmen for us in the future. Even though we like Guhle and Hutson, those two don't project as complete as Reinbacher. Big right shot dmen is gold yes and one that can contribute at both ends of the ice will be insanely sought after. Michkov is great but I think Reinbacher can be a cornerstone player for us too.

Theres a lot of Habs fans that do so though, go read the draft threads or even his prospect thread on the main board. Its very petty and insecure. The whole conversation around the KHL being one of the worst leagues in the world and it not being impressive that he's producing and breaking production records and also the whole thing about him being benched and the coaches being right (Hint: they were not.)

Lets not re-write history, and we can also stop derailing the Reinbacher thread with Michkov talk.
Lol how people can't understand this part as its happening right in front of our eyes is absolutely mind blowing
Slothful induction.

Youre not seeing teams lose because they have top forwards, you're seeing teams lose because they have bad management and overpaid for role players.

Otherwise I could always bring up Nashville, NYI, Carolina, Boston and even Montréal.

Nashville had Josi, Subban, Ekholm and Ellis but no top offensive player and they couldn't win it. They came about as close as the Oilers did, losing to the cup champs in 4 and 6.

Boston had McAvoy, Lindholm, Orlov, Grezlyck (or wtv), Clifton and Carlo and they did not win.
NYI have had a top 4 defense for a number of years now and the best they could do is an ECF.
Carolina has yet to win anything despite having one of the strongest defense year in and year out, and this despite having actually good players.

And it goes on. And then there's the two Pittsburgh cup wins, that pretty much clashes directly with the statement.

Anyway, lets just stop with these generalized statements that don't mean anything. You need good players and good management to win, you don't have less chance to win with McDavid.

This is just plain wrong. I don't want to turn this into a Michkov thread and this will be the last post I write on the subject. The post I replied to clearly left out Michkov as an offensive dynamo, and if you were around here during the draft you had a lot of posters criticizing Michkov with frivolous takes.

the draft was six months ago lol

since then i’ve seen very little of what you’re describing and for good reason

I wasn't in favor of Michkov due to Caufield as I don't think you can win the playoffs with these 2 on your top line. Reinbacher has struggled a bit this year so of course fans will start to get a bit concerned due to the insane season Michkov is having as he just put up a 3 point game today. Then add in Slaf's horrible production so far and Mesar looking a bit like Drouin and it's logical that fans will start to feel the heat.

Doesn't mean it won't pan out 5 years from now but even the most die hard fan would have admit it would be fun if we had Cooley, Kulich and Michkov in the system right now.

It f***ing hurts. He’s so much more of a complete player than Caufield. It’s tough to have the player that might become great one day instead of the player that’s already great today. Anyways, I hope for the best.

I don't know about that, his game reminds me a lot of Caufield just a better playmaker but I don't think it's a much more complete game at all though I haven't seen too much of him in the KHL. If we picked him instead I would have seen every game this year but I only saw 1 game so far, it's on my patreon because KHL is geo blocked for my youtube ch.
