And Tampa won with three players over 6 foot in their entire forward squad, lol.And I understand why. Vegas had only one guy under 6 ft (Marchessault). Saying size is irrelevant is just false, but a major factor

It's overvalued in the NHL by some calculations, at least during the regular season, but understandably so. Size is crucial for playoff series. And I understand why. Vegas had only one guy under 6 ft (Marchessault). Saying size is irrelevant is just false, but a major factor
Yeah, but they build around Hedman, Stamkos, vasilevsky. I mean. They picked Kuch and Point in later round but at the beginning, they build around bigger guys. Then, I understand the choice from Hugues to build with 6ft3 dman like Reinbacher wich could become a top pair dman soonAnd Tampa won with three players over 6 foot in their entire forward squad, lol.
Lol. Woosh.
They didnt think the skills were equal or anything like that, they chose to prioritize height and weight as a skill and thought that made a player the better player.
It was wrong then its still wrong now and it will be wrong.
Great coaching, Huge D- all -star goaltending, very skilled, talented and fast forwards with Marroon playing Popa bear. And Tampa won with three players over 6 foot in their entire forward squad, lol.
They looked at Slafkovsky and Cooley and said: "Damn, those kids are very close in skills!"?
????
No. You did not just say this. The skill is not height and weight.
The skill is strenght.
Many tall and heavy player dont display strenght.
Some average sized player have incommensurable strenght.
Slaf has height and weight and incommensurable strenght like Sundin, Draisaitl.
Players who would also look "unskilled" relative to a player like Cooley and Zegras or Will Smith.
They looked at Mesar and thought "Lets pick him to make our 1OA more at home since theyre basically best friends."They looked at Mesar and said :"Damn, that kid is about to hit a crazy growth spurt"!?
!!!!!
And Tampa been lucky to select point and Kucherov on later round pick. They didnt decided to build around them. Maybe Riley Kidney his our next Kucherov. Who knows. Lol. I was pro Michkov at draft day, but I knew Montreal would select Reinbacher because of his pedigree, size. they want to build a team the for playoffs.Great coaching, Huge D- all -star goaltending, very skilled, talented and fast forwards with Marroon playing Popa bear.
You seem to be attached to gossip and ungrounded speculation... fun and all for talk radio & hyperbole-fuelled rants, not so useful to build an informed or grounded opinion on.No. You did not just say this.
Draisaitl and Sundin both have more talents in yheir pinky than Zegras has.
They looked at Mesar and thought "Lets pick him to make our 1OA more at home since theyre basically best friends."
Indeed. And Tampa been lucky to select point and Kucherov on later round pick. They didnt decided to build around them. Maybe Riley Kidney his our next Kucherov. Who knows. Lol. Of course they did, but size is the reason why they thought these players were the best at that slot.
Nobody is saying they willingly picked the inferior player to add size, they think the size skill makes them more valuable than what was available.
Are you calling Benson soft? Jesus christ youre just plain trolling now.
Please stop, its just outright fake news and people are going to pick up on this and its going to have a Snowball effect.
Petry with way better Defensive skills + 50 points per season ? . That's pretty good.I hope he’ll be better than Petry that’s for sure.
If we picked another Petry fifth overall in a deep draft… yikes
I didnt mean anything. Im just telling you to stop spreading lies.So you're saying Benson fell from 5 (McKenzie mid season poll) all the way to 13 just because he's small and despite being the WHL's best and toughest two way forward? Is this what you're trying to tell me? That it's 0% performance related? You know he's the same ht as Bedard? Benson may be small but he's not a minion by any means.
Deep doesn't mean full of stars. It means full of NHLers with decent careers. In most drafts, many picks, even first rounders, don't crack the NHL for more than 100-200 games. Even looking back on 2003, while many guys had high peaks, completely lacks star power. Nearly every guy who was heralded as a star only had 3-4 years of great play. There's not a single all-time great forward, Bergy is special for his defense, in the draft. Weber and Bergeron pushed their way to the top of the draft through compiling. Staal and Bergeron are the only guys in the draft who outscored Kovalev at the NHL level, who is not an all-time great. Pavelski should end up passing everyone this season though. 39 points from Bergy and 62 from Staal. Still playing as a PPG player. I'm pretty sure Staal came back last year just to stop Bergeron from passing him.I hope he’ll be better than Petry that’s for sure.

Do you have evidence of this or are you just making stuff up?They looked at Mesar and thought "Lets pick him to make our 1OA more at home since theyre basically best friends."
Size is clearly a skill. Acting like Draisaitl isnt one of the most skilled player in the league despite his overwhelming physical package is delusion. They have more talent when you consider strenght as a talent. They are not more agile nor do they have better deke tho.
Thats kinda how you framed it at first, as you said size and height was the skill.
I mean, have you watched any of the post 2022 draft recaps? Its explicitly talked about that theyre best friends. No, they dont say "we picked him because of this". Its heavily implied.Do you have evidence of this or are you just making stuff up?
So you have no evidence. GotchyaSize is clearly a skill. Acting like Draisaitl isnt one of the most skilled player in the league despite his overwhelming physical package is delusion.
Hes one of the best, if not the best shooter on the planet, hes one of the best playmaker on the planet too. Those wouldnt disappear without his size. Slaf doesnt have anything like this.
I mean, have you watched any of the post 2022 draft recaps? Its explicitly talked about that theyre best friends. No, they dont say "we picked him because of this". Its heavily implied.
Yeah Im sure it was a coincidence that they picked their 1OAs best friendSo you have no evidence. Gotchya
Of course it did. Doesnt mean Mesar didnt have redeeming qualities though, just like Slafs size helping his selection. You have to be delusional to disagree.i think Slafkovsky knowing Mesar helped the pick but damn Kulich will hunt us for a long time
Again, you don’t have evidence. It’s just conjecture.Yeah Im sure it was a coincidence that they picked their 1OAs best friend
