If he can develop into a Moritz Seider 2.0, I will be happy with the pick.
Moritz Seider like players are a once in 10 years event. If you’re planning on Reinbacher to reach that level, especially his d+1 progression, you’ll be sad.

If you rebuild, they will come.

Yes. He could help. Yes. He will be a NHL'er. But this period of the year is not only the period of the year to improve but to also be excited. To also have the sense that you didn't lose for nothing. Clearly isn't the case here.

Yep, he will make up for Mailloux and Hutson defensive issues. I'M just not sure that's how you build a winning team.

Anyway, whatever, we'll see in 2 years when he'll come in.

Reinbacher is a legitimate BPA at 5 for a team that does not want to pick Michkov.

I had him at 6.
I had him at 8, I believe. But it's hard when there's so few really good D this year. If you think a team is going to take one, you have to go early.

I'm here for the meltdown

You guys did it to yourselves, the writing was on the wall for quite some time that we weren't picking Michkov, but you always make up these scenarios and ideas in your heads and run with it.
Expectations are one thing. Being completely clueless and passing on a generational talent is something else.

He definitely fills a need on RD.

Wish him all the best. Would be fun to have him in Laval next year, but maybe back to Swiss league is best.

I won't lie I'm a little disappointed but I don't want to put that on Reinbacher he's still a great piece to have for the rebuild.

I'm not sure if we have a cup contending #1D in the system yet.

Didn’t want him, but can’t complain we did need more righties on the D for our future

If we're daydreaming, its more like:

Hutson-Reinbacher
Guhle-Barron
2 of Xhekaj, Harris, Mailloux, Engstrom, etc.

I like Guhle, but both Hutson and Reinbacher have massive upside. More upside than Guhle.

One thing is for sure, Montreal has one of the best prospect/young NHLer groups in the league.
The idea was you need big D to be successful I think we can say we have that now.

Guhle 6’3
Barron 6’3
Reinbacher 6’2
Xhekaj 6’3

Swiss-A is better than the DEL and Reinbacher still produced way more than Seider.

Seider had a crazy developmental curve post draft though.

In the Swiss league, among U-19 players of all time, Reinbacher is 9th all time.

He's second among defensemen all time with 22 pts in 46 GP. Only other 18-year old D who is ahead of him in that league all time is Roman Josi, who had 24 pts in 42 GP.

Going to give this a chance not that we have a choice

Usually when i like a pick it sucks so hope the reverse jinx happens here

If he becomes the big RHD number 1 D, its a key component on a contender

Will he, no idea
