Brind-Amour doesn't get brought up enough either, I feel. Currently one of the lowest paid coaches in the league, and no extension signed past this season.

The identity he's instilled in Carolina and what he's gotten out of that team should speak for itself.

How is this any different than saying Hartford losing is because of talent discrepancy? Excuses are for losers, well coached teams don’t have Hartfords record, etc etc etc
Who says they are well coached? It's Quinns system. Comparing the big boy club to our AHL club is not a 1:1 comparison.

Dont lump everyone into a Knoblauch > Quinn category. I never said that or thought that.

John Hynes baby

Is this serious? Like for real? Hynes is like DO NOT TOUCH material to me ... dude looks like knob wrapped in a condom-body-suit.
And iirc his hockey teams blew ass.

I don't know who Jon Hein is, but I also would rather have him ...

RB'A on the other hand ... so much experience, so jelly. CAR would be stupid to let him go.
Perfect coach, remembers and lived old-school hockey, took ages to win a Cup, knows what it needs to make it.

Until the team quits on Quinn (which there are absolutely no signs of) I very much doubt that Gorton will fire him. If there’s a disappointment with the results Gorton and JD are smart enough to understand how much (meaning how little) this is due to Quinn’s coaching, at least up to this point. We shall see what transpires the rest of the season but if the Rangers get somewhat closer to a playoff spot without actually making it, then Quinn is likely safe at least through an early part of next season.

Exactly where I am at. Unless Gorton & JD have a wish candidate that becomes available. But I honestly do not know who that would be. Maybe someone like a Sullivan? Just spitballing.

But yeah, as it looks like the team will finish about where the rational thought that they would (bubble team), I think Quinn (much to the rage of many here) starts next year behind the bench.

If there was a discussion about replacing him, wouldn't the first name be Knoblach?

Sullivan took over team a team that was ready to win a Cup. He might be the next, next guy. But I'm not sure he's the right next guy.

Like I said, I was just spitballing. If there was a discussion in the past, then I would have thought that Martin would be the in-season replacement. But again, I do not see him getting fired during the season. Knoblauch does not strike me as the one that they would hire to replace Quinn. Ultimately, I still believe that at a bare minimum, Quinn is the one who starts next year behind the bench.

I think Quinn is gone at seasons end. I'm not even a Quinn hater but he lost me on a few things. This organization should look at this season as a complete and utter failure. This is a playoff team and at the very least a team that should be right at the bubble to the bitter end.

- Goalie rotation nonsense
- Ice time allocation
- Atrocious Power Play
- Game Preparation
- Underachieving

The New York Rangers Brass should absolutely consider this season a failure. I'm not sure they're completely out of it yet. April brings a very winnable schedule but regardless of what they manage to pull off Quinn is looking more and more like he is NOT the guy. I get it's probably difficult to fire a guy in this climate mid season. I'd do it early off season so you can get a coach in there who's won and is prepared to win again.
