If they don’t have anyone right away sure. Go with an interim the rest of the season.Agreed but firing him is the easy part. Would you wait to hire the next full time coach till after the season?
Ok. Then let’s discuss it a different way. What coach is having any sort of success when a goalie lets in beach balls and your top center is playing to the level of a Boo Nieves?
what team has confidence if every single unscreened 50 footer is a goal?
Does anyone really see us bringing Torts back? Putting aside the fact there hasn't been so much as a whisper the organization is souring on DQ, I find Torts an unlikely candidate.
Because they’re winning one game on a Saturday with Panarin back?Honestly, I'll be surprised if Quinn isn't still the coach at the halfway point of next season.

This guy still needs to go. Rip the bandaid off.
No lol, I've been saying all along that he isn't going anywhere.
For better or worse, the only noise about moving on from him has been fans. A .500 season this year will not get rid of him. Poor start next year? Then we could start seeing some smoke.
well then RIP to any hopes of Laf or Kakko becoming impact playersHonestly, I'll be surprised if Quinn isn't still the coach at the halfway point of next season.

We just can't predict what the FO has determined is a passing grade for Quinn.seriously, its not like they just hired him and don't want to be hasty. This is his 3rd year as coach. Can't imagine the average NHL coach shelf life is much longer than 3 years. He's not the guy to take this team to the next level so why waste our time?
Depends imo. If they end the season under .500 and/or if Sullivan becomes available, I don’t think Quinn is here next year. If neither happens, it’s less clearNo lol, I've been saying all along that he isn't going anywhere.

We are ready now. Panarin, Zibanejad, Kreider, Trouba are in their primes and making a lot of money. Gonna 4 straight years out of the playoffs. And he’s doing a shit job with the #2 and #1 overall picks. Gonna wait till we miss 7 years in a row again like 98-04? Wait until Laf and Kakko are 25 years old before they finally “break out”? Zero reason to keep this guy.We just can't predict what the FO has determined is a passing grade for Quinn.
I said they need stay .500 or slightly above for Quinn to keep his job.
He isn't taking us anywhere in the post season. But, again, I don't think the FO thinks so either.
When we are ready to take that next step, Quinn will be gone.

Either people have short term memory or really don't remember Torts tenure here. You are complaining about Quinn wanting North/South and Dump and Chase....WTH do you think Torts wants to do? The makeup of this team is the antithesis of what Torts wants. Torts wants 4 lines of grinders. The black and blue shirts were successful because the Duby, Callahan, Girardi, Staal, and McDs along with a 4th line of goons were perfect for Torts.
With the depth of forwards we have, Gallant would be the better choice. Torts was literally run out of town by the players, including Hank basically revolting against him.
Have you seen a single "dump and chase" shift yet this season?
I certainly haven't.
They did against the Bruins today with a sustained forecheck.
But Quinn usually employs a free wheeling and rushing approach.
Its why we do so poorly against the Pens. Rangers try to play open and exchange blows.
