You want facts?

- Jeff Gorton said DeAngelo was given a final warning
- An incident happened involving DeAngelo
- DeAngelo was then put on waivers and 30 teams passed on him, a top-5 D-man in points
- He was demoted to the taxi squad
- They tried to facilitate a move to an AHL team but again, no takers

Those are all facts. If you think DeAngelo was somehow treated unfairly by the Rangers, how would you explain 30(!) other teams not even touching him?

Well, first off, it's not 30 teams. Only like 4 even had the cap space to claim him off waivers without making other moves.

why is there 2 plus pages about Tony in the Quinn thread? Can we have the Tony thread back?

Well then I take it back. I thought that the slurs came as a teenager and people were still overreacting to that. But if it's now, no excuse and I'm not one of those people that sees everything through identity politics.

We don't know if they were slurs or not. The comments about race for instance, were mostly about how racism is an overblown concept in America.

Either way @JHS is right; wrong thread.

Oh, then I disagree that that should be the reason he should get shunned by the league. In fact that's ridiculous. Anyway, I guess I'll get off this topic I'm over TDA.

It's not quite that far to the mundane side of things either.

But again, to the original reason it even came up in the Quinn thread, the coach did not weaken ADA's value.

ACKTHUALLY...

IMO he's lowered everyone's value this season... but I know what you mean.

Just for the record, this isn't true. Everyone made this calculation based on starting cap numbers. But using the amortized in-season numbers, it was more like 12, with another 3-4 that could've easily finagled the move.

Obviously not a big deal given that it's now been reported that no one in the entire league would even take him on a loan to their AHL team (which would obviously be a cap neutral move), but the fact that this point keeps getting raised bugs me.

Again, steering this back to the topic - not really a Quinn thing.

An insistence on using Lemieux on the powerplay, very much a Quinn thing.

And go!
Drives me utterly bonkers. If he keeps getting that usage with Panarin back, and potentially with Kravtsov added to the fold, I may break things.

(And hell, it's been half a season with no appreciable success. If you're going to use someone from the lower lines there, can we at least try Gauthier who's bigger, stronger, and profiles a lot closer to Kreider than Lemieux ever will?)

I’d love to see the power play unit from last year with Kakko on the right side again. Is there a good reason why this can’t even be tried again considering our recent struggles on the PP?

seriously. Buch has played really well and may have "earned" the look but he's just not really good on the PP. With Panarin back maybe we can get new looks but please let Kakko or Laf get a look there.

Lest anything think ADA is being persecuted for his specific beliefs, try telling your coworkers every day that anyone should able to marry anyone and use any bathroom they please. See how many days in row you can bombard your coworkers with political viewpoints (liberal or conservative) before getting a call from HR.

There is one thing to argue Kakko. It is another for Lafreniere. The right side is not his side. Yes, playing on the correct side makes a really big difference.

Kakko played exactly 15 second less on the PP than Buchnevich there last game. lafreniere played exactly 10 seconds less on the PP than Kreider did on the PP and 10 seconds less than Buchnevich.

But no. The kids are not seeing any PP time.

I’m saying I’d love to see him on the first unit, I’m not complaining about a lack of ice time

This really depends on the player. Some are comfortable on either side like Berard, Kakko, Kravtsov while others really prefer to stick to one side like Cuylle or Kreider.

The PP is so predictable. The other team could just have someone stand next to Zbad and block the pass. The other 4 guys on the PP are not going to do anything but try to force that pass.

Would be less predictable if someone like, say Panarin, returns to the lineup. I bet zone entry will also become better.

We had that drop pass in the neutral zone last year.

As more of this season rolls along it's become more evident to me that Ruff had a much larger role than initially thought.

When Potvin played you could be a racist, rapist and pugilist off the ice and no one would bat an eye. Let's not compare an era of little to no standards to the standards of today.

For the thousandth and final time. Tony did this to himself. Get that through the cement surrounding your brain.

Cement surrounding... something
