Next game is again Islanders if we look bad and lose again I think Quinn gets fired that would be 6 losses in a row for him.
I dont think Rangers have anything to lose. Just replace that guy

thats because he doesn't have oneI consider myself a decent hockey mind. I have absolutely no idea what Quinn’s system is, 3 years in.
this is exactly where my mind was when i made that post
fat man is basedI just checked Boudreau actually beat the Rangers both times he met them in the playoffs.
That’s what Trotz does yet people praise him.Exactly. And while Kakko wasted nunerous chances and wasnt anything special, atleast he was visible and was able to generate something.
What did Buch do? Strome?
Panarin was also bad.
Yet it's always these young guys who suffer. Crush their confidence even more
Not to many people. He was called a bust everywhere I read before two seasons ago.DeAngelo developed in a couple different systems and was always supposed to be a stud.
I mean if you watched him it was obvious he would become a stud, but he already had a label in the hockey world and virtually nobody wanted him to succeed. Even here it felt like he was only playing because the only alternatives were bottom pairing AHL players. Not to many people. He was called a bust everywhere I read before two seasons ago.
It’s very difficult to pinpoint whether it’s the coach that has an influence on the player, or if the player would become good/bad all on his own. I don’t know. But you can’t just say a coach ruined X player, while Y player became good all on his own.
He was also an excellent head coach for the Senators. He developed Hossa, Alfredsson, Havlat, Yashin, Chara, Fisher and Spezza. Redden peaked under him. He's the perfect developmental coach; then you bring in Coach Q (or someone like him) once you have a contender.Martin has been in dozens of NHL locker rooms. You have to imagine JD and Gorton are going to ask him at some point, “how is Quinn doing?”
I don't know what to say about Quinn tbh. Like.........what does he do besides let the team sleep in and play like they downed two 6 packs of natty lite the night before?
That's the only thing I can consistently say about them is they are consistently horribly unprepared. It was true in the bubble and it is now too.
It's game 1 but like, I'd feel better defending Quinn and giving him a pass if I knew what exactly he did.
On the first period, “we just weren’t prepared to play the right way from the get-go."
Not going to overreact to 1 game, but man it's hard not be angry about this quote, game 1 of the season, and you are already giving that quote as a coach?
Agreed. As I like to say, I always believed in him, and he made me look good. I’m not right all the time, but I was here. And you probably felt the same about him. Were you the one who said he had Paul Coffey upside? I remember someone saying that about him, but I forget who it was.I mean if you watched him it was obvious he would become a stud, but he already had a label in the hockey world and virtually nobody wanted him to succeed. remember when the blackhawks fired denis savard 4 games into the 08-09 season?
i do. im thinking about that a lot rn
Yes, but I didn't mean 138 point upside just to be clear. It was meant as an archetype akin to "prime EK65 but worse defensively".Agreed. Yea I gotcha. You meant a stylistic comparison and similar level of play, right? But that was you, huh?Yes, but I didn't mean 138 point upside just to be clear. It was meant as an archetype akin to "prime EK65 but worse defensively".
