I won’t lie: I was super excited about the Panarin signing — excited to see a game breaking elite forward in Blue for the first time in years. This whole ordeal has been poor financial planning. And, for that reason, I think it’s time for Gorton to bow out.
What kind of embarrassing nonsense is this ? You’re willing to trade away a Hart trophy finalist who carried Rangers last year and leading them this year ?

The locker room is not split. It’s all pointed at one individual right now.

I understand people not liking his Twitter. I'm not on Twitter and don't know what he does there. Was it that or something in the locker room? Either way how do we let him go for nothing?

Quinn and Gorton need to go. How many coaches does he get to hire? He could have overruled scratching ADA. How do we lose ADA for nothing? This is awful, we needed to get something for him last year if they weren't committed to him.

Gorton has built a club with the most young talent I've ever seen in my 35 years as a Ranger fan. Im no fan of Quinn, but he deserves a locker room free of the TDA stench, and we go from there.

I'm not a hige Quinn fan but this seems like one of those questions where you just pick an answer that fits your narrative.
Buch is playing his best hockey under Quinn, Chytil seems to be on a good developmental curve, Fox and Miller obviously look very good early on.
Does he get credit for these or is it just 'natural progression' and 'they were developed elsewhere'?

On the other side you've got Lias and Kravtsov's issues and ADA.
Is this all on Quinn or do the players and their attitudes have some responsibility?

Kakko is in some weird limbo state and it's too early to say with Laf.
Chytil judgement is still out. He always starts hot then disappears. There's no evidence to say otherwise. We like to think he broke through but he's done this before.

Our youngest offensive forwards have struggled under Quinn. I trusted his intentions when he first came here but its year 3 now. I do not understand how he alienated three young promising talents. Lias and ADA are now gone. Kravtsov almost left.

Kakko and Laf look no where near like what they did in juniors,. That is something to be concerned about. We're talking about as NHL ready as prospects can get... who dominated the international stage... even against men.

Howden started out great then hit a wall.

Hajek started out great, then got hurt and hasn't recovered since.

Fox and now Miller are the outliers. They are NCAA defenseman, as is Lindgren... is that coincidence or is there something there?

Why are NCAA kids excelling while CHL and European players continue to struggle?

Also add Shesterkin... he was a brick wall wherever he went. He started off hot, when we called him up and now he's 'off' to say the least

No need to get emotional. I didn’t criticize his performance. It’s just a matter of contract and age.

And when the team still struggles with the "stench" gone then what?

Well, if you're me, you say "Wow, this team is uber-talented, and uber-young, and I look forward to watching them without the stench"

And then you closely evaluate if Quinn is the coach to take the team to the next level? Im not ready to look that far into the future when it's clear who the stink bomb is in the locker room right now. Not enough people give thought to how morally deflating it could be to deal with a teammate with the a-hole credentials of DeAngelo. It has to be even worse in the pandemic age. All the people flipping out about "getting nothing" for him, need to understand this is very likely a net positive by just subtracting him.

The locker room apparently gets along just fine. There is one player who has tested that bond n
From what I saw I thought everyone got along with ADA...

shitty ending and hopefully we can get something in return for him

this circles back to no leadership in the room. That needs to be addressed with great urgency because this coach is not in control either

Just odd since Tony always seemed to be loved by his teammates and nobody ever had anything but great things to say about him during his time with the Rangers. Hard to really believe this.
the only thing I can think of, he took the benching really poorly. imo getting scratched then losing his 1PPQB spot was excessive; for a 'emotional penalty' after being embarrassed in game 1. Did he sour from then or prior?

Either way this team is a mess.

Where's that guy who said he golfed with TDA who told him the entire locker room hated Henrik Lundqvist?

Is there actually any evidence of this? As the years go by it's hard to keep track of the player relationships on the team. Not calling you a liar, just genuinely curious.

It's just been interviews. I honestly don't have them bookmarked or anything.

He genuinely was, albeit a stronger personality who wasn’t always the go-to person in the room.

But something has been off the last few weeks. Be it changes on a national level, be it a new contract and feeling of having “made it”, be it forcing issues that are best left out of a locker room, etc.

Trust is a big thing in a locker room when it’s been breached, even if being in a good place prior to the breach, it becomes an issue.

I dont quite follow. Did Gorton make DeAngelo an insufferable a-hole?

How is ADA an insufferable a- hole exactly?
Because he's a Republican?
DQ penciling him onto the top pairing then immediately tosses him on the 3rd.
I don't care who you are.. That would piss me off beyond comprehension..
JG is a terrible GM for allowing this shit show to continue.
Morale is down to the point where players are fighting each other.

There's something rotten going on within this organization and it's not ADA..

I can imagine Tony feeling frustrated. Getting scratched and not playing well. FWIW Marc Staal was probably a good guy for him to partner with. Someone who would be a constant safety valve and was a well respected leader. Tony's defense has always been iffy and this year he's been bad on D. You also don't f*** with your own goalie ever. Players need to know how they fit in and they also have the responsibility of carrying their own weight. When you're not playing well you need to own it and if you're blaming others instead that's not good. Tony wasn't playing well. Alex hasn't been playing great either but Tony needs to worry about his own game and let Alex worry about Alex. I'm getting the idea that Tony kind of lost the thread here.

So ADA was literally voted the funniest guy in the room in video interviews and now all of a sudden he's an outcast?
I find that extremely hard to believe.

This is DQ playing f***ing games..
