Why not?
I've been criticizing him since he got here.
Some people know hockey.. Others just play video games.
Too each his own.
People think I'm a troll bc I speak the truth but as per usual.. I'm usually always right in the end so you do you and don't worry about what others think ;)

You missed my sarcasm haha. My bad for not using the :sarcasm: emoji

No, that's not it.

It's if you're going to criticize him for game 1 because of the lack of preparation/results, and then you're also not giving him credit for the response/results for game 2, then I think you're not being objective.
I agree to an extent, but it just seems like one day he’s a great coach, and the next day he’s out-coached. I hope that changes and that he works out. I really do.

This is what a professional coach does. Makes the opponent think they can coast to victory in game #2 after allowing them to dominate in game #1 and then out of nowhere surprises them with an actual hockey team in the second meeting
Rope-a-dope, learned it from the Greatest

Trotz is a HOF-level coach. His team looked like ass today. Was that his fault? Was it his fault Barzal is still taking dumb penatlies because the message didn't get through last year?

Or maybe players regress to what is comfortable for them?

Quinn has said time and time again, and his biggest criticism of the bubble that when the team plays bad its because they aren't physically engaged or willing participants to get their hands dirty.

Why do teams like the Islanders have less nights off? Their players are predominately muckers with a few skill guys that ARE willing to get their hands dirty. This team needs more jam to balance out the finesse.

Or the skilled players we have just need to show up ready to play. I said it before the game that our leaders needed to be the difference last night and they were, those guys get paid enough that all of them can't just take the night off. Its one thing if one of mika, panarin, trouba, Kreider have an off night but all of them cant show up like they did on thursday, its unacceptable.

Or maybe a 3rd year NHL head coach also has some growing and learning to do before he gets to be a 15 year head coach

Just did reference, people should remember how long it took Trotz to win his first playoff series.

coaches are assigned too much credit and too much blame. Quinn didn’t have the team “ready to go” opening night. Trotz didn’t have the islanders ready last night. Give me a break. They’re not a bunch of ten year olds. They’re professional athletes who can be prepared to play a game on their own without the coach giving them some big motivational speech and telling them to play hard

I somewhat agree with this. I think in the Rangers case, this was the same problem the team had in the bubble, so Quinn deserves some credit for helping to pull them out of it. Overall, I don't really evaluate coaches based on a single game. It has to be a body of work, which we obviously don't have yet for this season.

So I say Quinn deserves credit for pulling them out of it, but it remains to be seen if that sticks.

I think he has done an uneven job since coming on. Some guys have taken steps forward, others haven't really progressed, and there are a whole lot of questionable decisions that I just can't understand. I don't think he's terrible, but to this point he hasn't done anything to make me think he should be brought back for another year.

I think if you bet against the Rangers after a day off this season you will win money more often than not.

Shortly after Quinn was hired there were people on here that said he seemed like a coach that would be here to help them lay the foundation for the next group of kids that would come in but he wouldn't be the coach that would see them through towards the more advanced stops, and those people that need those proclamations appear to be correct. I like parts of DQ, but he is just consistently being shown as a second rate coach. Three years later and I really don't know if anybody can identify what the team's "systems" are and we constantly have preparation issues with slow starts. Those are not hallmarks of good teams...

I don't blame him for the loss, Blackwood played well and Georgie let in some bad ones.

But he's supposed to be a developmental coach and he's failing, HARD. Kakko and Laf would be tearing it up on any other team right now.

At some point, the problem isn't drafting or the individual players failing. At some point, the common denominator needs to be held accountable. Not saying we are there yet but Quinn isn't doing himself any favours with the way he is handling things

Yeah, you can point to some questionable picks like Lias and maybe even Kravtsov but when you have 2 no brainer blue chip talents and they still can't get them going? Its on the organization/coaches.

I try not to make knee jerk reactions after every game, but the early goals directly into a penalty practically every game since he came here is unforgivable. Every single time it happens the beats need to ask him about it, much like when a dog shits on the rug and you keep having to rub their nose in it. He needs to be publicly embarrassed by it over and over again until he fixes it.

He deserves blame for not challenging the 3rd goal but this is also how I feel. IDC about winning or losing today my biggest concern is him f***ing up this entire rebuild by ruining all our top prospects. How long until we start talking about Laf the way some on here already discuss Kakko
