Scott Morrow and a plus

Not that I think it gets it done, but throwing it out there as Carolina is seemingly in on everything. Waddell did draft the player, though.

okay, fine, correction: his value on internet message boards has changed, because we're a group of folks who get distracted by jingling keys.

among NHL front offices? i doubt his long-term projection is in question because he's in the AHL at 20. those teams aren't viewing him as a finished product, either. they're buying the toolkit and have a plan to maximize it.

it's really hard to find these types of players in the draft, and exceedingly rare to see on the trade market. he's still in demand.

he has not requested a trade and took his demotion well.

he was frustrated last year that he wasn't getting the same deployment as nemec and korchinski. now all three guys are in the AHL.

now the frustration is coming from the agent. it's allan walsh causing problems, and the jackets seeing if it's worthwhile to resolve the problem via trade. if the value is good enough, they pull the trigger. easy as that.

allan walsh is acting on behalf of his client to force a trade. you might consider where all this media coverage of jiricek going back a long time comes from. the team is not leaking it.

this happens all the time in the nhl. agents agitate and campaign to get players out of situations without expressly making a trade demand.

Someone break down exactly what potential Jiricek has?

Does he have dynamic offence? Doesn’t seem like it.

Bruising defence? Doesn’t seem like it.

For a defenceman that cant skate well in todays league, im just confused where all this potential talk is coming from.
Someone said it best earlier. He's clumsy. He's really good with the puck on his stick. His skating and decision making are definitely concerning. But he's 20 years old. He's still a top prospect and could be a very good defensemen in a few years.

Why are people thinking defensemen suddenly hit their peak at 20 years old?

He's certainly trying to get his client more playing time. For a while, his client was not getting that and so there was agitation. Right now - within the last day or two - he's now getting that.

Personally I'd be inclined to pick Wright. I'm not sure which one Waddell would prefer, tho.
I’m hoping for Columbus’s sake they go for a one for one deal (like something like these guys) instead of a package of average players and middle round picks. Get the best young player they can.
Zegras has, imo, higher upside (offensively) than Wright. Weight, though is the better 200 foot player.
Johnson 1C and Wight 2C might be pretty damned good in a couple years!

Explain please. Not seeing the tangent.
We lost our locker room leader this off-season. Our captain and assistant captains both are out with essentially season ending injuries. Olivier has blossomed and filled a massive void in the locker room and simultaneously continued to become a fan favorite. There's absolutely 0 reason to move him right now. Nobody else on the roster can do what he does. Are Dach or Zegras gonna drop the gloves to stick up for a teammate or need someone to stick up for them?

KJ's looking like he's going to fit best as a playmaking winger (but what a playmaking winger!). For center we're looking at Fantilli, Lindstrom, Voronkov, Sillinger, and a couple other guys like LDBB who aren't currently getting NHL time.

Wright just might fit perfectly into that young forward group. Right shot too. Dach (not happening, of course) would be great too.

I think eventually Sillinger becomes expendable.

PIT has really good goaltending prospects. Not sure if that would appeal to any team in the mix.

I wonder if Columbus would consider Willander and Lekkerimaki for Johnson and Jiricek. I’m sure they would at this point but curious as to what fans from both teams think?
