Blackhawks’ Joel Quenneville can be so intense he practically throws off sparks (during a press conference). He is also capable of delivering a few terse sentences and walking off, and he mangles the language with the best of them. But generally speaking, he doesn’t treat reporters like something to be scraped off the bottom of his shoe.

Sutter can't stand Jon Rosen.. that's for certain. Every one of Jon's questions gets "the look" and then a 1 or 2 word answer, if any. Got to be frustrating when you're the Kings beat writer and the coach wants to ignore everything you ask.

Sutter doesn't mind talking to the media, just as long as the subject isn't hockey. Ask him about farming and he'll talk for hours.

I'll bet the players laugh and hoot at his Press Conf. , I love them. You can feel the fear in the media, who for the most part are intimidated by him. And he really doesn't like Rosen much, he cuts his questions to the quick. I really enjoy the biting sarcasm answers..esp if it's a dumb question.

But you can tell how much the players love him and respect the fact he protects them that way. I'm sure he dresses them down behind closed doors, as it shuld be . But he gets the best out of them, and you never hear a former player he's coach give anything but praise.
