It's assumed to be 7 defensemen. Talbot was called up as well, Mission down to HFD.

Rangers need to inject some offense and pronto. Powe does nothing for them in that regard. I think both moves 1) to bring him up and 2) to put Pyatt on the first line were ill conceived. Both of these guys are pretty much useless to this organization as it is now. On a better team they might find a niche where they could help out. Not here.

I thought he was brought up to kill penalties? Is Hagelin coming back or are they really going to go with just Moore, Pyatt, Fast and Stepan? If Nash is coming back, he hasn't killed penalties under AV. Weird.

For all the people yearning for answers about this transaction, I think 99% of it has to do with Darroll Powe being a bad NHL player.

Theres really no reason to dress a 7th defenseman over Powe.

Powe can fill a 4th line role and PK. Hes fine in that role now with 3 wingers out..

No games till Thursday, so this is kind of an odd move to do today.
