I certainly remember this clown bullying rookie Dubas during the Marner negotiations with his ..

"The Leafs are low balling Mitch Marner"

[source] Toronto Star.

I also recall a couple recent clients of his held out on deals and got screwed in the end.

I sure hope Ferris isn't going to mislead Marner that he could "just ride out the year" and head to Free Agency without conflict. Ferris better know the media will massacre his tender client. And so will the fans. And.. key point here ... Marner will not handle this well .. and it'll be reflected in his dramatically lower value in free agency.

What are people's opinions on Darren Ferris ?
Is this clown going to play hard ball and screw Marner ?

Let's hear it.

Your use of the word bullying is ludicrous.

He did his job and got his client a $65.5M dollar contract. Marner could undoubtedly just ride out the year and head to Free Agency and whether he does or not Ferris will negotiate another contract worth 10s of millions of dollars and some will whine all the way through and past the process no matter what.

That said, I'm glad it's not my job to deal with him.

Dubas is ridiculous. That's why I used it.

I am aware of the role of the agent.

@57 Years No Cup - u like ?

Ultimately the best agents have the negotiations and the final deal reflect the wishes of their client. I suspect Ferris reflected his client's priorities: the most money at all costs. The outcome certainly points that way. I guess Dubas felt he had to overpay Marner because Babcock was a meanie to Mitchy.
