hey guys , I recently put together a video entitled the rise and fall of Dany Heatley, which I decided to post here because he was once a big part in the Sens organization but left on bad terms .
If anyone would like to add , please let me know .

And if nobody is interested , I’ll take it down .
Cheers

Thanks for sharing this.

Heatley was and is a douchebag who sulked and then screwed the Senators by demanding a trade and still forcing the hand of where he would go.

Dick move.
Thanks for watching bud, :)
Yeah I had similar feelings about the situation as well!

man its so weird to think that this man was a 50g scorer on the best line we've ever had. Those were the days, beating the leafs 8-0 lol
Also makes you think how the deal with Edmonton would've turned out for us. Cogliano, Smid and Penner could've been interesting

Thinking back and as I mature I no longer see him in this light. He asked for a trade which was his right. His NMC also allowed him the flexibility of choosing where he could go, and he chose to use it.

I know it shouldn't matter after all these years, but I just wanna know the true reason he asked out. There were definitely some wild rumours floating around at the time.

People get tired off a fan base crapping on them same reason Spezza decided to go.

That's completely wrong. Spezza was asked if he wanted to stick around for a rebuild and didn't. That was reported by BM at the time.

The only thing remotely related to crap is the nonsense you're spewing. Heatley asking for a trade came out of nowhere and had nothing to do with the fans. Have you been hanging out with that sweaty scarlet guy? Are you sure Heatley didn't want out because of the arena location?

He is a person not just a hockey player there is no way having 18000 people in his clan yelling and screaming what a piece of garbage he is will not have an impact.

Lol what a long winded immature insulting post that is nothing more than “nope cause sweaty scarlet sucks and now you are like him”
God god man relax you didn’t offer a alternative. I can’t even believe I responded

lmfao.
I’d love for you to play out this “fans hated Heatley and drove him out of town” timeline for us.
Would you say the fans turned on Heatley BEFORE or AFTER he asked for a trade out of the blue. Start there,..

You're right, I didn't, but I also didn't conjure up a 'once upon a time' a scenario either. If you're going to have a go at us fans at least have a leg to stand on.

Again, if this was actually true and it bothered Spezza that much....why in God's name would he sign a deal to play in Toronto of all places?

Really? All 18000 were screaming and yelling he was a piece of garbage? Sure buddy.

The fans here are so bad Uh-oh Joe Corvo came back for seconds.

How do you remember his 70 point season and the sens missing the playoffs being treated by the fans?

Lol when large groups in the crowd are doing it do you think he was doing a head count and weighing the amount that loved him vrs hated him in that moment
Let me know if your in a fish bowl and have thousands of unhappy people yelling insults if you can tell the difference weather all of them did it or not

Who Spezza?

The Senators fan base was always mixed on Spezza. Some used him as a whipping boy, but the majority saw him for what he was . .. an elite center.

I don't recall the entire building booing any senators superstar aside from Yashin. Gonchar got it pretty bad during one home opener though haha

No one turned on Heatley UNTIL he asked for a trade.

He was hugely popular. He was also overrated, as his performance post-Pizza Line proved.

Not necessarily.

I didn't like that he ran away from Atlanta. He really did owe that community a little more after the collision. Running away from your problems never solves anything, and I do think that will weigh on him for a long, long time.

Heatley's game and body broke down early, but he was spectacular in Ottawa.

He may have been the first big name to exit during the Melnyk era. At the time fans were much more pro ownership, and it was assumed Heatley was the villain, the team was blameless.

Hard to say what really went down, have heard several different stories.

Watching him put up back to back 50 goal 100 point seasons was amazing as a fan though!
