This is not even close, Kap all the way. Heatley had 2 elite play drivers with him and only excelled during the crazy high scoring 4 years coming out of the lockout when everyone's numbers were inflated
There was only one "crazy" high scoring year after the lockout (2005-06). Even in 2006-07 when Heatley scored 50 goals, scoring was significantly lower than it's been since COVID hit.

You're talking about more than a decade later. The four years coming out of the lockout were night and day compared to pre lockout, especially the first 2. I watched him nightly for years, there's a reason he fell so hard and so fast and was washed up by 30, he depended on Spezz and Alfie, 2 elite play drivers

Scoring the last 3 seasons has been higher than it was in 05-06 or 06-07. That’s just a fact.

It’s also worth mentioning that Heatley finished top-10 in scoring in 02-03, while scoring was still low, and without the help of Spezza or Alfredsson.

A single season, before he destroyed his knee and killed his friend cause he sucks at driving, ya, he was good, but still not on Kap's level and never was for a second after that. Again, this is a guy I watched play almost daily which you clearly didn't and are just looking at stats well after the fact

Normally I wouldn’t bother replying to someone so stubborn. You don’t know anything about me, you’re just mad that you were wrong about the scoring levels. It’s not like I even argued that Heatley was better, I just listed facts to you.

The Sens around that time were one of my favourite teams in the league, and I watched them quite often actually.

LOL, I'm not mad at all, I watched him and he's not on the same level as Kap, period, stats aren't everything but they will absolutely prove it out by this season's end. At no point was Heater ever even remotely close to 35 points in 21 games. I wasn't wrong about the scoring levels, wtf are you talking about, I never once compared the current levels to Heater's prime, you kept doing it and I ignored that red herring. 05-09 was night and day compared to pre lockout, that's what I said and it was 🤷‍♂️

Seriously heatley played with 2 HOFers,
And heatley only hit 50 twice , kap elevated zuccy to career years since hes been in the league and gave him a resurrection to his career

Heatley’s peak is going to get underrated here because of how steep his decline was, but he finished 4th in the league in points in back to back years, and 5th and 2nd in goals. Kaprizov’s peak probably clears Heatley’s by season end, but this is a lot closer than most probably think

Yeah I was about to say he’s part of the group of players around that period that get forgotten about like Alfredsson and Lecavalier. He was an elite sniper at his peak and a very good playmaker as well, similar to Brett Hull in a way except he could actually skate early in his career. Could’ve been even better without the injuries. That said Kaprizov since the middle of last season seems a tad better to me, just an overall more dominant individual with similar offense if not better if he can sustain his pace this season.

Heatley had 38 points in his 22 game point streak to start the 2005-2006 season.

Leaguewide scoring be damned, if you put a prime Heatley and a prime Kaprizov on the ice in the exact same situation, Kaprizov is doing more, he's a much more complete, well rounded, better hockey player.

Lol, dammit, I was gonna mention that streak but didn't think he got that high in the numbers. Ok, I stand corrected. That was never to be repeated in his career though and the fact remains that was on the backs of the playmaking abilities of his two better linemates. Kap is a play driver and Heater was not, facts are still facts

Could not agree more, Zucc should have a shrine to Kap in the entrance to his mansion, lol
