Dallas hasn’t won a game 1 since 2020, so how they start the series will be interesting.

Avs have often come out guns blazing in the last few years especially in the 1st round. Then they slow down the longer they play.

Judging from Dallas games this season Heiskanen is more important to them than Makar is to Colorado. Dallas has basically won their games by talent alone. They have looked pretty bad.

That was a big player in the series last year. Dallas’ top 9 all average around 17-18 minutes a game, while MacKinnon is going 23-24+. The longer the series goes, the more it benefits Dallas.

The Avs top guys log a crap ton of minutes whenever they play. It's always like that, so not unexpected that they might burn out a bit the deeper it goes.

Oettinger will need to be at his best. Stars forwards are a bit too weak defensively this year. I like the Avs in this one

For some reason, I feel like the Avs are going to truck Dallas in 4-5 games.

Probably because other than that Seattle series the Avs tend to roll whatever team they play in round 1 then run out of gas towards the end of round 2. No one saw them taking out Winnipeg in 5 last year.

I'd say one of them should have pulled up their big boy pants and gotten more points, but even if they finished #1 and #2 in the league they'd be meeting in the second round (ala Preds/Jets in 17-18).

Wish they'd re-seed after the 1st round but Bettman loves his brackets so gamblers can lose the shirts off their backs.

I have a weird feeling about this matchup. On paper it should be the highest quality and most equal, I could still see Avs in 5.
