They have a long road trip coming up.

Screw a big hit. They need to start making basic plays and showing even an ounce of skill. Can't handle pucks, shoot pucks, find open space, skate properly, look completely braindead... And the issue is that the top line is leading the way in those issues. A big hit is not going to fix that.

I actually feel like "effort" and "energy" is the least of their worries. They need to "try" less and "do" more.

The narrative on the main boards about the Leafs trying to coast on talent right now is so comically off the mark its crazy. We look less talented than bottom feeders, or at least the % of "talent" plays we actually complete (talking about completed OZ passes, controlled breakouts, etc) is half of what bottom feeders do against us.
