If I’m Guerin I’m probably pushing my chips in the center this season. Having a couple of untouchable chips makes sense but at some point you have to give to get. If you’re not trading any of your top 5 or 6 prospects and don’t have a first you’re not receiving any difference making players, and you put yourself at risk to get bounced out in the first round again, which at this point should be fully unacceptable.

Personally I'd save some ammo. We probably are not as good as our record, an add wouldn't hurt but I am holding onto our best chips for now. Once ek is back our center depth is good and we always have Hartman as a backup. If the market is too expensive for Nelson we can pick up a wing and see what happens.

But, I do not see a fit between Isles and Wild -
The Wild do not have 2025 1st, so not sure what the main piece the Wild could offer - a second and Ohgren or Heidt is not going to cut it. I think Carolina and Dallas could top that.

Either of these options are more valuable than a late 1st and the type of prospect that's usually included in these deals lol

I would not trade Ohgren or Heidt alone for Brock Nelson let alone add a 2nd.

I like Nelson , he’s a good player. He’s also an old rental and the Wild are farther than a Nelson away from contending.

Lou might legit add with the Islanders winning the last 3 of 4 and getting reinforcements back very soon. Crazy ass old dude  But Dallas would be a pretty damn good landing spot for Nelson and then obviously him returning him home to Minnesota too

Yeah, Friedman already poured cold water on the Nelson rumors. Lou only know how to do one thing.

If the isles lose to Chicago and the rangers win a couple it’ll look like a pretty uphill battle though. Something has got to give

Nelson plays LW too but I hear you. Feels like a good year with the Avs a little dysfunctional and the blues probably not going to make it. Still, I don’t envy coming in first or second and getting one of Edmonton/Dallas/Colorado/Vancouver in the first round

you can laugh all you want -Would prefer the first (even if its low) + prospect. And he’ll keep your guys - I doubt Heidt can stay at C.
