I didn't realize there was an exemption regarding buyouts and the 35+ rule, this actually does save them some money.

But I sure hope they have a plan, because they're thin on defence already and Lundkvist shouldn't be a full time NHLer on a contender

Suters contract wasn't technically a 35+ with the way it was structured even though capfriendly i believe still called it a 35+ it didn't meet the criteria

I didn't think he was bad in the playoffs

He was awful in the EDM series. Arguably the main reason the Oilers got back in that series when he fell on Oettinger giving McLeod a tap in goal when the Stars were up 2-0. Then he started taking penalties too that led to goals

Same thing that happened last year. Decent first 2 rounds, awful WCF.

He wasn’t nearly as bad as people here are saying. He had some good moments last couple years. Especially in the playoffs when he can get away his vintage cheapshots. Hell of a career

He always looked fairly solid to me especially for the ice time he got. Is he Bad bad or just bad relative to his cap hit?

Is he still serviceable or totally cooked? Sad that it looks like Pavelski and Suter's Cup aspirations have come to a close.
