What would it take to save this stud from purgatory. Do you believe Biz? He looked really good at 4 Nations and I'm sure teams would be lining up to add him.

24 years old. Year 1 of a 8 year 11 Million AAV deal.

Could Dahlin force Buffalo's hand and make it get ugly?

I’d be frustrated and I don’t know what the true specific roadblocks to success are.

But I wouldn’t want dahlin if he quit on the Sabres. Be the solution. They’ve given him like every opportunity and an amazing deal. I don’t get what the problem is.

Guy could have been a UFA this summer had he gone to Arbitration following his bridge deal. But, took the max contract. This is year 7 for him. Come July 1, any trade protection for him kicks in. So, that is something for the Sabres to consider if he's not happy. They have full control over where they could move him up to then.
They went from within a couple of points of making the PO to like the 4th worst record in the NHL this season.

I believe that Dahlin is not happy being committed to a team with no sense of direction and zero improvement since his draft.

Whether or not he asked to be traded or whatever, who knows.
Well, I was going to say the Flyers should be all over this, but if he doesn't want to commit to a team with no sense of direction and zero improvement, he's just going to demand a trade again immediately.

Was just looking at his deal myself to confirm contract. Agreed. If Sabres feel hand is forced, they'll need to address it before July 1st if they want max value.

He's under contract for 7 more years

Plus I doubt the Sabres would move him to begin with; it would be a legit deathblow to the franchise as a whole

Sabres are totally hopeless until that degenerate owner sells.
Or he could...you know...hire a GM that wasn't Deputy Director of Accounts Receivable in his previous job. Or has any amount of experience.

Or if he really wanted to pretend he gives a shit about winning, he might even hire a president of hockey ops too. But he won't.
