Since the terrible start when we allowed 4, 1, 9, 6, and 5 goal, we have allowed 29 goals in 18 games. That includes 15 games of allowing 2 goals or fewer and only one game of allowing more than 3 goals. Oh and we had 4 shutouts (compare to 2 all of last year). That's about 1.60 GAA (taking the OT into account). I remember how everyone on the main board said that our D was overrated because we play the "six goalie system".

BTW, we allowed 25 goals in the first 5 games and 29 goals in the next 18.

And how many games have Hank/Talbot had to really steal? Or make acrobatic 40+ save performances to keep his team in the game? Not many. Dallas, LA, the first period against Pittsburgh......any others? This team routinely outshoots other teams and still keeps the GAA down. It's probably not sustainable but I'm proud of how excellent this team has been defensively.

The fact that they've doubled the shutout count from last year, already, is a testament to their performance.

Getting Talbot playing instead of Biron has made a world of difference in that GAA...and of course getting Henrik healthy.

Let me put it this way, I think they've played better on D than that 11-12 team that relied so often on Lundqvist. I can't believe this is the same team that I saw against SJ and Anaheim.

We actually played a very good game in St. Louis. Dorsett's stupid penalties + Biron's god awful goaltending really cost us that game.

There was a few posters from the Canucks board saying it would take a few weeks for the Dmen to learn the system.

Not many listened to them.

Interestingly enough despite playing a more creative offensive style and a D style that lends to a good breakout, we are worse than we've been in a while on offense. However, we're creating. The team is creating too many chances and is too talented to be SO bad offensively. That has to pick up.

unsustainably low shooting percentage. we should be a much better offensive team than we are.

Well the Sens had the most shots per game last year but were like 27th in offense. I know it was only 48 games, but sometimes things don't regress to the mean.

There was like...2 or 3, and you'd have to filter out all the "lolz happy wit AV yett? herpa derp" Canucks fans. But yes there were Canucks fans who told us pretty much exactly what would happen. Puckmonster?

At this team's best, I don't see them cracking the top 10 in GF. Ok, sorry, that's stating the obvious. I agree, but I'm just saying we still lack finishers, even with Kreider / Nash.

Not to mention Stahl and Del Notto having below-average-at-best seasons production wise.
