One of the bigger surprises so far this season in the OHL for me - Burns has played quite well for Kingston and he looks like he could be a player to look out for once the 2023 draft rolls around.
Burns has the size you want in a defender in the NHL - standing at 6'1". He is a mobile defender that is good at carrying the puck up the ice, and also has a really good first pass also. He can be physical although he doesn't use this ability of his game much - he at times struggles to maintain his gaps in the defensive end - but with his mobility, I'm sure that this can be improved upon in time and could even be developed into a strength of sorts. He reminds me a bit of John Moore when he played in the OHL. Should be an interesting player to follow this year - he could see himself shooting up draft lists as the season progresses.
OHL Rights: Kingston Frontenacs
OHL Draft: Kingston Frontenacs (2021, R2, #35 Overall)
