Not exactly impressive offensive numbers, if you factor in the level of the German junior system. His size seems definitely impressive but I wonder if this player wouldt have been still avalible in the later rounds...

I watched every Germany game in the WJC.

Can't remember too much in detail, other than Münzenberger was a very nice surprise. Played big minutes if I remember correctly and was not a liability out there at all. I felt relatively comfortable when he was on the ice.

Not sure about 3rd round quality, but his play made it certainly reasonable to draft him imo.

He’s a physical defenceman for sure, he’s got a good first pass and thinks defence first. Oil didn’t select him for his offence. He’s been playing in the German u-20 league since he was a 16 year old and is committed to the U-of Vermont.

Regardless of what he’ll be at the NHL level, he looks like a sure fire NHL player at this point.
