I haven't seen anything about this kid and he quietly has 3 goals and 12 assists in his last 13 games while being a +5. He also has 26 shots in those games. Has anyone seen him play and if so, how strong is his skillset.

He is a power play specialist, with great offensive ability. He makes clean cut passes, and is good on the break out. He is long and lanky and can use his stick well. His shot is not heavy, but he can aim it well, and often looks for re directions. However he has the tendency of doing bad pinches that leads to odd man rushes. He is a little bit hesitant to play physical. Overall he is very good offensively, and could use some work on defense. He really wasn't on anybodies radar, now I could see him going in the 4th round.

Another German from the Q, San Jose? :)

If he keeps up this production at his size I can't see him making it through the 3rd round, this is a really weak draft for defensmen.

Right handed, offensive D with a solid frame and named Leon. Hope the Oilers take a closer look. :naughty:

One of the better value picks in the draft.

Very confident with the puck through the neutral zone. The way he rushed the puck reminds me of Troy Stecher.

Can't believe we picked Gunnarsson over this guy.

Posting great stats in his 3rd QMJHL season for Cape Breton this year 31 pts in 29 games thus far, wonder if the Jets might have gotten a steal.

There has been some suggestion the Jets revamped how they evaluate D-men after the Logan Stanley pick in 2016, if so it seems to be working with Gawenke looking like one of a couple late (ish) round picks currently getting good reviews.
