He’s a pretty meh player at this point. Being in Anaheim hasn’t done him any favors but he is very far from the player he was from 2015-2022

Krug contract back ?
Or maybe Leddy:dunno: Same term as Fowler andBlues have a couple of bottom sixers in the 2 million range if the money has to even out (Joseph/Texier).
Doesn't Fowler stink? What is STL doing
Overplayed for several years on the top pairing, simply because they had no other options. He could be much better if deployed better, imo.
Krug contract
Or Leddy, which has the same term. Krug is one year longer, so Anaheim is probably not interested in it, unless insurance covers a big part of it.

Maybe in a separate deal, but the Ducks are unloading Fowler because they currently have 8 NHL D and are having to rotate their young puck movers (Mintyukov/Zellweger/Lacombe) out of the lineup.

The Ducks need help up front - scoring, faceoffs, size+speed

Realistically what do you guys expect back for Fowler? I hope the Blues don't give up too much.

I'm sure this comment has been made hundreds of times but a guy named Fowler was born to play on the Ducks lol. Like if Miroslav Satan played for the Devils.

Really depends on how much retention (if any). A hockey trade for a vet forward would be the preference, or something that can be flipped for a forward I guess.

If the Ducks are retaining a fair bit, I'd expect a couple B assets or maybe a protected first, because then you are getting a top four D at a reasonable rate. If taking the whole contract, I'd expect more than what we gave up for Trouba but something similar - contract and a pick.

It may not be the biggest return, simply because I think the Ducks want to get this situation resolved. Can't keep scratching their top young D or start sitting well paid vets. Cam seems to have had a foot out the door since the off season, I have no doubt it's affecting his play this year, understandable after 15 years in one place. Time to rip off the bandaid and make it happen

Do the Blues happen to have any sort of log jam at center? The Ducks are dead last in faceoff percentage and actually heading for a historical worst mark. Could use a quality veteran faceoff guy, even if only a bottom sixer

Doesn't

Krug already blocked a deal to Philadelphia because he didn't want to move.

Are you sure he'd waive now?

Guess it depends how likely he is to ever play again. There are worse places to finish your career than SoCal I suppose. But I'm not even sure it's 50/50 that he ever plays again.

…and if he’s done, he can stay located in St. Louis and just fly into SoCal for the mandatory required visits, meetings, etc…

No our biggest need is middle six center. I guess Sundqvist could be available but I'd be sad to see him go just because he loves being a Blue and is such a fan favorite. Doubt we would move Faksa only because we need his skill set right now. Sundqvist kinda sucks at faceoffs though while Faksa is pretty good.

No, Our biggest Hole is Middle 6 Center and Our biggest Log Jams are 3rd line wingers in Saad, Texier, and Joseph and 7th Dmen like POJ and Perunovich

Hmm maybe nothing really lines up for a "hockey trade", we'll have to see I guess
