kinda surprised to not see Dvorak, maybe that's the homer Oiler fan in me though. Nice to see Olesz crack this roster.

No Hamrlik??

Did he decline or something? I know he's injured right now... But em...

No Hamrlik?

Suprised about Hamrlik too. He's probably been the best defenseman they have had this year.

Hm... Don't know... They look kinda different than what I figured.
No Hamrlik. No Petr Sykora (I know he's not exactly lighting it up here, but still).
And a pair of, pretty much elite, wingers, left and right, missing in Elias and Havlat due to injuries.

Good to see Kuby and Prospal on the team. Prospal is having a monster year, glad he is getting some props.

If by they, you mean the "Czech Republic", then you haven't watched enough of Tomas Kaberle's play this year.

Do you guys think Fischer would've made this team if it wasn't for his health problems?

Yeah, it looks like Kuba took his spot.

And why the **** do they keep chosing Malik?
He sucks, they have a bunch of guys better than him.

Not touching that one, IMO, Kaberle, Kubina and Hamrlik are too close to call. (though Kaberle and Kubina are younger... and Kubina seems to turning into more of a shutdown guy).

But seriously... Did Hamrlik have a row with the coach or federation or something??

How the hell did they pick Malik, Frantisek Kaberle, Kuba and Spacek ahead of him. Even Zidlicky.

IMO, he's clearly in their top-3 as fas as defensemen are concerned along with Kaberle and Kubina.

I just don't get it. :dunno:

I don't get it either. Hamrlik deserves to be on the team.

Marek Malik is the type of shutdown defensive defenseman they need. Why do you think the Rangers have one of the best team defenses this year, because of Tom Poti?

***?

*** is that Olesz guy doing there? I think Republicans have better players in Europe elit leagues. Well i am just wondering.....

Because he is very talented. I doubt you have many better players in europe elite leagues who are czechs.

Well, I can't say I'm too surprised that some big names were left off, it always seems to be the case for these tournaments for the Czech's. Still, I'm a disappointed Hamrlik isn't on the team, especially since the reason is most likely political. His loss is just compounded with the obvious loss of Fischer.

I can understand why Elias was left off, but it's still a huge loss. He's the Czech's best all around winger. Hopefully he was named for the taxi squad. His loss plus Havlat's will hurt, two of our top 3 wingers gone. Add to that two of our best four dman also arnt playing, I can't say i'm too optimistic on this team's chances.

It will basically come down to if Hasek can steal another one for us...
