Why is Vala the 7th D? I thought he was playing a top 4 role in the games leading up to this tournament

Our lad just takes the puck, waltzes in, and tucks it in short side. I've missed stuff like this after watching so much pro hockey  .

come on, he did everything right it simply hit him in a weird spot and deflected under his armpit into the goal...

Let in another weak goal earlier on that didn't count as the ref blew the whistle too fast. Obviously I'm not counting him out just because of a few mistakes and I know he has good numbers in the Czech league but he doesn't look very impressive right now.

Skarek is supposed to be a top goalie for 2018?

He will be I think, unless something crazy happens.

Very talented and what he has done vs men in Extraliga and WSM is very impressive for his age... well, more than impressive.

HaÅ¡ek, Hnilička and Dzurilla are the only Czechs/Slovaks in history who have been able to play to good level vs men at the same age.

the czech have some talented forwards i must say. Vesalainen most visible in finnish team so far imo.. Tolvanen has been invisible so far ?

How's Spacek looking? Watching USA-LAT right now.

Have not paid much attention to the czech team but im sure he is one of the more talented, from what little i noticed that it was him he seems to be an really good skater. latter part of the first they have been on the defense tho.

Borgström and Vesalainen were the only players that stood out from the Finns.

Borgström has great vision and some impressive passing skills. Maybe Florida was onto something lol.

I havnt watch that much, but from the little i have seen i think vesalainen stands out. You can see the potential there.

Just kinda boring, PuLa-Aho has spoiled me. Very weak start, but Finland began to gain traction towards the end of period. I thought defense would be our strong point, but so far it has looked shaky. Our forwards look bland, no one really stood out except Vesalainen on that one play. I am also a bit worried about our physicality, the reason we did as well as we did last year was because we were skilled and physically imposing. This year we seem soft and physically raw, Vesalainen being an exception. Hopefully our skilled players can still prevail, for me this tournament is mainly about entertaining games.

We were spoiled by PuLa-aho for sure but this is the first game of the tournament lets not write them of so soon.

Vesalainen looks good and Tolvanen so far has been invisible .. in a good way i think he looks to be like a stealthy sniper judgning by that period. I think he will put the puck in net this game.
