I recently broke my beloved CCM 40K Ribcor and have been looking for a replacement, a friend stumbled upon a great deal though on a high end stick - CCM Ribcor Reckoner (a newer version of what I had). It was once marked up at $300 and is on sale for $100 at a LHS, it is available in both Crosby and Datsyuk curve.

I've had the Crosby curve twice before, but never the Datsyuk curve. Has anyone used the Datsyuk pattern? I was looking for a change anyways, just figured I'd ask what anyone's opinions on this curve and or stick.

Thanks!

It is all personal preference.

Personally, I would lean towards the Bergeron curve as I like more of a toe curve.

I picked up an old Ribcore Titanium last year and shot around with that a little for giggles at stick and puck, and up until recently, my curve of choice was the Crosby.

The Datsyuk has a squared off toe, is pretty darn straight, and what curve it has doesn't twist and open up like the Crosby. It's as close to a completely flat blade, like you see in the days of old, as I've ever seen.

A little tougher to roof pucks in close. But backhands are easier, but like anything, it comes down to personal preference.

Ahhh, I'm usually I'm the type of player to dig pucks out of corners, I'd like to work on my backhand, so this curve might just be what I need :-) I'll try it out in the next couple days and update with my impressions on it.

I used the Datsyuk curve on a Reebok Sickick as a backup stick a few years ago. The squared-toe is a little different, and the wristers aren't as pretty, but stick handling and passing made up for it. Snapshots were good, too. Should do fine digging pucks out of the corners. It's solid, but nothing spectacular, although I did like it better than the Crosby curve. Out of all the Reeboks/CCMs, I've liked the Bergeron curve the best.

Update: CCM Ribor Reckoner, 85 flex, Datsyuk curve.

I've used it in a few pick up games, a league game, and at stick and puck; it's an amazing curve and stick overall. It seems to be good at everything: wristers, snappers, clappers, half clappers, saucer passes, backhand shots, digging pucks in the corners, and shooting / passing accuracy.

The only area I gotta dial in is the backhand saucer passes, I've been fluttering a few of them, but they still get through. Any advice how to break down a backhand saucer pass, or how you do yours?

Couldn't be happier, CCM makes amazing sticks and the Ribcor line is perfect for how I play.

they didnt have the crosby blade in the flex i wanted.. so i ended up ge4tting the datsyuk blade

i like it.. that square toe feels helpfull for toe drags... but im not sure i can offer advice past that

been using the datsyuk curve for quite a while now

first on my old reebok 18k and ever since they introduced the reckoner line that's all i've played with

it's the perfect curve to me. i prefer a more closed curve than an open one. accurate backhand and forehand passes, wristers, and snapshots. plus the reckoner has the low kick-point for a loaded shot. i've never had a good slapper nor do i take them much but the ones i've taken with the reckoner+datsyuk curve have all been heavy and accurate

if you're someone who likes to take snap and wrist shots and looking for a great passing curve, i'd highly recommend the datsyuk curve
