Which one is not like the other . . . Kane, the only American-born player on the list?

Which one's not like the others?

Adam Cracknell is +13 for Dallas. That means he is somehow +30 compared to Seguin.

Now tell everyone how +/- is a meaningful statistic.

Burns is the lone D man on the list. He is in the conversation for being both the regular season scoring leader and hart trophy winner which has not been accomplished since being done by the one and only Mr. Robert Gordon Orr.

Seguin will never be on the ballot for the Selke, but I'm sensing an air of 'He may be flashy, but he's -17; glad we traded him;' which I disagree with completely.

Dallas' defense was suspect last year (yet Seguin helped them win the toughest division in hockey, by the way), and they lost Goligoski and Demers to free agency. Hamhuis' best days are behind him, so that didn't help much.

Their goaltending - also bad last year - is equally bad or worse this year. There was a game not too long ago Niemi gave up three goals on the first three shots.

Seguin, as well as Spezza and Benn, are exceptional to elite offensive players. They are minus players because they are logging serious ice time playing behind, in which a team with already sub-par defense and goaltending has to take even more chances.

Cracknell has been good for them, but Ruff isn't exactly throwing him out there in the waning minutes with the Stars trailing.

The Seguin trade was ill-advised, the return was terrible, and if we are to believe the acting performances on Behind the B, he was traded because he didn't fit the 'mold' of the 'Big Bad Bruins' - right as the league was moving away from that style of play.

Of course it's a meaningful statistic. Should be taken in isolation? Of course not.

It's like your blood pressure. I wouldn't want my doctor to assume I was the healthiest man alive based purely on my good blood pressure. Of course if my blood pressure sucks I'd like him to pay very close attention to other indicators of my overall my health.

If you look at that list........ Seguin ain't the healthiest patient on it by a long shot.

Return was horrible. However you might want to do little more research on some of reasons he might have been traded. It wasn't because he was a crappy player or because he wouldn't fight.
