Cracking easton synergy htx

I bought an easton synergy htx stick at a sale knowing that my current stick that I've had for a while was going to break soon. It sat in my porch for about a month. When I started to use it within about a month a small crack started to form on the bottom. I didn't notice it and usually leave my tape on for a couple ice sessions. I let it get to the point where it was too late for the warranty but not broken enough to get a new stick. What I decided is to buy a new one but just tape the heal with electrical tape and re tape it after every ice session. P.s. I wouldn't go through this much trouble to use a stick I didn't like. Anyway now its been a couple days short of a month ago and I've played with the 2nd one about twice a week for a month 8hours roughly. A small crack has started to form despite the electrical tape on the heal and so I am met with a difficult situation. I have two days to return it with the warranty. I've also read online that high end easton sticks have durability issues so should I bother getting a new one just to have it crap out on me in a month. Should I repair it somehow because the crack is only about an inch and water hasn't gotten in yet.

I'm pretty pissed because throughout my career the few 150+ dollar sticks I've gotten (easton, warrior) have had the same problem heel durability. It's not a lie problem because my tape wares evenly. If you could give me a solution to my problem that would be great, but I'm also willing to use both until unuseblity and find a new brand that is durable. I've always wanted to say I've stayed with one brand along time and I've clearly gave easton many chances. What do I have to do to find a good durably stick that will last me 2-5 months.

Follow through with the warranty.

Don't leave your stick out on the porch in open conditions for a month...

Check your shooting technique (and have others take a look) to see if you use your heel more on slappers or whatever.

Consider epoxy as a temp fix for smaller cracks.

Is there a stronger tape then electrical you would recommend because the crack is small enough that if it doesn't worsen the stick won't be compromised.

In almost all of these situations I find it's form issues that lead to people breaking a large amount of sticks.

That's not to say certain sticks aren't prone to breaking in spots more than others but it does sound like you're wearing the heel out yourself more than the sticks across a few different manufacturers being faulty.

You may be right, over the past 3 years I haven't purchased a stick over 120$ and I haven't had any problems with durability but as soon as I buy a 200$+ stick I get this problem. I'm going into my high school season in 2 months so I would like to find a stick that gives me the same boost to my shot and will last. Also I've never been the kid to break many sticks so my parents are ok buying such an expensive one going into an important part of my career. An ideal situation would be for the synergy that I'm on last long enough to get some good use out of it then switch to a different brand that has good high end durable sticks.

Stick warranty

I have two of the same sticks one started to crack at heal so I bought second and used electrical tape on heal to protect it. The 2nd has lasted the same time and a small crack is beginning to form. Could I find a better tape to protect the second while using its warranty on the first. By the way both sticks are easton synergy htx's one of them has red on it the other is white but they both have same curve, lie, grip, and flex. I'm not trying to pull a scam or anything cause I bought two very expensive sticks and they've both craped out on me in the same time frame (one month) or (eight ice sessions). I have one day for the slightly cracked second stick.

Probably didn't have to make a whole seperate post, considering your other topic is right below this one, and this board doesn't move all that fast.

I wouldn't use electrical tape at all on a hockey stick. It hardens in the cold, and probably isn't doing much in terms of any protection/ reinforcement on your blade. Second, if one of the sticks is still under warranty, just get it replaced. As mentioned in the other thread, it's most likely technique that is leading to all these stick cracking problems.

Xman, have you considered high end two piece sticks? Many of them weigh and feel very close to their one piece counterparts. You can replace the blade if anything.

Tieclark echoes my sentiments, see if you can pay closer attention to your form for the next little while

I've heard that supposed "one piece" sticks are actually two piece sticks that are just sold together. How do you tell?

Nevermind I just read that the easton htx is "fused 2 piece construction". Does that mean if I switch to a two piece I'll have no problem adjusting?

Easton sticks are terrible, so are Warriors...I only use CCM/Bauer now, every warrior and easton stick I have had broke way too fast.

And you'll have a million people with the same line of thinking, but switch the brands around in any combination...

This isn't helpful in the slightest. :shakehead

I'd guess wrong lie or a stick that's too long. When sticks break in a consistent way across brands, then technique is usually the answer.
