Lots of speculation about Dvorak which I find strange.

Would LOVE somehow to snag Couturier out of Philly.

According to Friedman’s 31 thoughts released today, he doubled down on Dvorak’s name being out there and Russo has confirmed the Wild’s interest.

2 big name reporters claiming Dvorak’s name is in rumors.

Friedman states Dvorak “makes a lot of sense” for Minnesota after their moves of buying out their big 2.

A late 1st and Ryan O’Rourke doesn’t do it for me. I want Rossi. If we have to eat a year of Victor Rask to get that done, then fine.

It needs to be astronomical for him to be traded. Especially since they're trading within division. We need to gut the wild of everything they love for this to make sense.

Seriously, who but Dvorak would create interest in a trade on this godforsaken team? Good contract, great 3C, usable 2C.

Package OEL with Dvorak for Rossi and a 2nd.
There's no way Minny can do that. They have 15aav in dead cap for two seasons, starting in two seasons. If they're going to do an ELC for Dvorak, they'll probably want to include Rask as an offset. Maybe we can get them to throw in a pick for us eating Rask. They're also looking at losing Soucy to Seattle. So maybe there's something there?

The Wild have Rossi and surplus picks, plus Rask to drop. They've liked Dvorak for years. And now they have a need for a LD.

OEL likes Minny per the Boston insider guy.

Might be something there.

I wasn't sure we were going to tear it all the way down. But now with all of these Garland and Dvorak rumors, I'm thinking maybe we will. And I'm thinking maybe we should have seen it coming. We hired an amateur scouting director from St. Louis to be our GM. We hired an amateur scouting director Tampa Bay to be our Director of Amateur Scouting. We hired an amateur scouting director from Colorado to be our Director of Professional Scouting. Then we hired the reigning CHL coach of the year, and current Head Coach of Team Canada's U20 WJC team and former HC of the U18 team to be our Head Coach. We retained Varady and sent him back down to Tucson.

Everything the team has been doing in the front office, and behind the bench, is gearing up for a total rebuild. They've done their best to assemble a rebuild dream-team. Of course they're looking to rebuild. Why else would everyone they've brought in or kept around been a specialist in young players?

Maybe because we're finally becoming smart that drafting and development is the way to go.

If you're gonna trade Garland and Dvorak, should just add Chychrun to that list too. It makes no sense to keep him around if you're going to strip everything around him. You'll get a killer haul for Chychrun too.

I couldn’t even get excited about trading Dvorak even if we got a piece like Rossi. I followed Dvorak’s junior career after his draft and was so excited about his meteoric rise just for him to become a middling 3rd line center at the next level like every prospect we ever dare to get excited over.

I’m not really interested in doing that again.

I think Rossi is a half season away from being NHL ready. He’d be even closer had he played last year but he got the Rona pretty bad.

I just assumed that the Dvorak speculation centered around Dumba. With the Suter buy out today i would say that’s off the table.

Trading for Rossi would be the only one that makes sense for the Yotes in my opinion, as we are not going to be competitive enough over the next couple years, so might as well spend that time developing. If you can’t find somebody that’s willing to give a top prospect and/or a top pick, it’s not worth trading him as he’ll still be under 30 and under contract by the time we may start to be competitive again
