Nick Cousins possible suspension? (UPDATE - Fined $2k)

NEW YORK – The National Hockey League announced today that it has fined the Ottawa Senators $25,000 for unsportsmanlike conduct during warm-ups prior to Game 3 of their First Round series against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday, April 24. The fine money goes to the NHL Foundation.

I cannot find where Friedman said that. Please produce the tweet.

My mistake it was Dreger. Notice the word “allegations”. Now in this situation, who would have made the allegation, logically speaking?

Pretty funny all around. Ottawa probably doesn’t hate it. They get to talk about “pre game shenanigans” to the media instead of why they’re down 3-0.

I wonder what David Perron is saying here

Maybe Stolarz hocked a loogie in Cousins general direction, which triggered the soft flick of the puck towards him?

Now, Stolarz may have just been clearing some saliva from his mouth with no ulterior motive. I’ve seen videos of players spitting while on the ice. But how can we be sure it was an innocent spit?

Perhaps an off-season committee can be put together to further investigate and draw up recommendations on how to prevent any future occurrences like this. Brendan Shanahan can be the chair.

the craziest fight I ever saw was in the old IHL when a Grand Rapids player shot at the Wolves net at the end of pregame skate, and then players came back out, some barely wearing any clothes, for a full team brawl. The police had to break it up. What I’m saying is that men are very emotional and that you have to keep a lid on this stuff or else we enter the Cool Zone

Probable that NHL also has informed Stolarz he is permitted at least 2 blocker shoves, a slash and a body check on Cousins as punishment for this blatant and heinous attempt to injure.

The Sens are always the victims eh?

Almost like the ratty, passive-aggressive antics aren't universally accepted.

Colour me shocked.

Thinking about it some more this was probably a wrap around way for the League (Rogers) to punish and (attempt to) humiliate Andlaur and the Sens for keeping leafs fans out of the crowd and ruining their ongoing narritive. They probably had multiple expensive montages set to The Tragically Hip they had to scrap last minute because it would have looked stupid against the sea of red.

Petty, childish move imo. Hope they don't waken a sleeping beast.

Weird. Hoffer was trolling Scheifele by shooting pucks into the Jets net from the other side of the ice and that was just considered light hearted teasing of Scheifele's superstition. This seems like even less. Players should be able to have some fun.
