If we are "unlucky" in the next 5 games and someone on the bottom 6 get hurt we keep Kapanen.
If we are really unlucky and someone get hurt on our top 5, we keep Kapanen.

No they'll replace him by Newhook like last season.
As much as we dislike Dvorak, he is the only lefty at center,
I will admit I do not fully comprehend why (important draw, end of game?), but all coach want at least one lefty center. He is currently our only option.

The opening lineup is already set IMO

Cole Caufield - Nick Suzuki - Juraj Slafkovský
Alex Newhook - Kirby Dach - Patrik Laine
Joshua Roy - Christian Dvorak - Brendan Gallagher
Josh Anderson - Jake Evans - Joel Armia

Mike Matheson - Kaiden Guhle
Lane Hutson - David Savard
Arber Xhekaj - Justin Barron

Samuel Montembeault
Cayden Primeau

Pezzetta and Struble as extras with RHP on IR. Sadly Kapanen will probably go back to Sweden unless we keep 2 extra forwards up. If Mailloux and Reinbacher both go back to the AHL maybe he can stay, if not we need 2 extra D.

The only 2 questions are:

1. Who wins the 3RW spot between Gallagher, Anderson, and Armia

2. Who wins the 3RD spot between Barron, Mailloux, and Reinbacher

Agree with you and I could see Kapanen being the 13th forward if he continue like that and we all know injuries will quickly happen so it would be a matter of time before he’s in the lineup

If they want to keep Kapinen, I fully expect Roy to be sent to Laval as he and Kapinen gain little development wise not playing every night. I also think he and Beck can build some chemistry as the 3rd liners next season.

On defense it is similar, can't see a limited waiver exempt Struble as the 7th D, if it is to play the young ones nightly, the team will probably grab a veteran RD off waivers to eat the press box hotdogs, and let Struble play every night in Laval and save his 20 or so games of waiver exemption for later in the season in case of injuries or if one of the top 6 needs to be replaced due to performance or trades.

I always LOVED Barré-Boulet.

He's a heck of a hockey player, and would be a perfect fit on this team.

Hopefully they see the light and DO NOT waive him, and if they do he doesn't get picked.

I 100% prefer him to guys like Pezzetta, Dvorak, Evans, Harvey-Pinard, Gallagher and company.

Don't know the player. What role do you think he fits?

He's Marchessault 2.0 .

Superstar at the QHJML level.
Undrafted.
Superstar at the AHL.
No icetime in Tampa.
Goes to another team... Turns into a star?

He's a bit older than Marchessault when he got with the Panthers (27 vs 25)...

If he gets somehow some time on the PP or with talented players in an offensive role, he'll surprise many people.

I'd love for him to make the team but unless they make a move before the season I think he is going back overseas , we are most likely going to only get rid of guys at the deadline

This season has a weird vibe for me...I am barely into it, like I have seen so much mediocrity over the past several years that I can't get into it. Hopefully this year the team makes great progress.
when the franchise is finally starting to turn it around??? contention window opens sooner than you think, mon ami
