It's been said over and over that you can be symptom-free and have the virus. People can show some self-control and not go out for a drink for a little. It's not that hard.

Also, this time of the year — who really feels 100% healthy? At least for me, with three younger kids, it always feels like maybe I have a sore throat/maybe it’s just imagination.

BTW, this thread is like a car wreck, I can't look away. I would be best served if I did, but I can't. I do think it has calmed down a bit and I appreciate it.

kids keep us tired regardless. Now they’re home so . . . it’s a lot.

Honestly, I hate fear-mongering, I think it's as bad if not worse than reckless behavior. But you need to have SOME self-control and give up something for a little bit in a crisis.
I agree, but I think the market rebounding to eliminate almost all of Thursday's losses (4th largest drop in history) may have had an effect on this going into the weekend. Even if they don't invest or have a retirement plan, many people look at the Dow as if it is a numerical representation of the health of the economy. We will see more days like Thursday to come. in for a hell of a ride, boys

Sure we do, unless you believe everything you read on the internet and think 500 million people will all need to be in the hospital at once from this. Not everyone would get sick all at once. 99% of people will recover just nicely in their bed like any other flu.
There are 2.8 hospital beds per thousand people in this country. I don’t know how many respirators there are.

Look at what’s happening in Italy. This isn’t fear mongering or extrapolation.

I lean libertarian. This is a true test of ideology. Living in a society often implies sacrifice. Living in American society for the vast majority of my life has required essentially no sacrifice. I’m not shocked that many have no interest in the common good even if it only means minor inconvenience to themselves.

This dude is in part the cause of the panic, people worry that a lot of people are like him and therefore are very negative so people take this seriously.

BTW, I've been having some slight health issues today. Sore eyes, headache, feeling stuffy. Could be anything of course, but damn. I just don't want to transmit it. I don't care about myself.

Are you saying that I am in part a cause of the panic? I don’t understand your first sentence.

Anyone personally affected yet? Family members, friends or otherwise tested positive?
Me and my girl have it. Along with some of her co workers. None of my employees have gotten sick. But I told them to feel free to take the time off. It's not that hard to run a gym with a few people anyways lol.

We cancelled all group work outs and personal training work outs with clients until April.

This is definitely over blown but people still need to respect other people's wishes and most importantly follow the law.

Hoboken shutting down the bars tomorrow here in Jersey, and enacting a curfew.

Should have been tonight since it is Saturday, but people just need to stay home, even if it is on weekends.

There is no reason to go into a club or into a bar tonight. If even 1 person going in is sick or infected, the rest are compromised, and you don't even have to be in there with the one person when they had it.

My next 2-3 weeks will be spent at home or at work (if it is still open during this period). That is what just about everyone else should do, and people that can work from home should do that too.

It's not to send out panic at all, but that's exactly how you get through things like this. We have so many ways to communicate with each other, that we should be exercising these options. Yes, in person is how we all want to hang out and get through things normally, but this isn't normal.

Good program on MSNBC right now. Recommend you tune in. Might end soon but I'm sure it will replay.
