Tough shit. Rent is just like any other income based on investments. You profit off your investment when the market flows in your direction and you lose money when you don't.

that’s not always true. Many break even or at a slight loss. They use rentals to offset income and use depreciation.

You can't put people in a situation where they're really at risk. You really wouldn't want to risk it with players either. Could you imagine if Connor McDavid got really sick? The other part of it is what New York is going through now St. Louis might be going through in late August--so then no team wants to even get close to Missouri for two and a half/three months. You wouldn't have teams coming into New York, New Jersey or Detroit right now and you'd have to be pretty wary of Tampa or Miami because Florida has been lax. There's the potential for all these pop up nightmare scenarios that would have to be rescheduled around. Also the potential for fans suing teams if they could show going to a game is how they contracted the disease or why some loved one died.

The responsible thing is going to be wait for the all clear--which is pretty dependent on a vaccine and showing up for a game is going to require a ticket and a certification of vaccination.

I'm officially in the making bread from scratch phase of quarantine.
I make my own bread and have done so for a while. I use a bread machine. The reason I make my own bread is because I'm a healthy vegan so it's really hard to find bread that doesn't have sugar, oil, butter, or milk in it.

Anyways I went from a low end 15 dollar bread maker to the beast zojirushi machine out there...the home bakery.

If you're into it.. the better machine is totally worth it.

How worth it? My wife and kids stopped eating the store bought bread and kept stealing mine. I now make 2 leaves a week lol.

If u want the super healthy recipe.lemme know. I've been perfecting it for a few years now.

Then similarly one can make a statement that you will need to pay your rent no matter what. Idiotic statements like the one you are making leads people to remind that living in an apartment or a building is a privileged based on an economical exchange between two parties. If one of those parties will no longer participate in the transaction, then the agreement is ended and said party can be replaced with someone who is willing.

See? Statements like "Tough sh!t" cut both ways.

Maybe I'm oversimplifying it, but why would landlords that are not giving rent relief need mortgage relief?

Currently, the answer is that is what the local government has chosen to do. The two items (mortgage and rent) are distinct and have not been linked.

I'm really curious to see how this plays out because a vaccine isn't coming to the widespread public for probably what, another year plus? Is the NHL going to basically punt all of next season after not being able to finish the current season?

I think there's a legitimate chance we don't see any sports again in 2020 for sure. There's so many obstacles that even if you centralize teams to a location or two with no fans, that players or essential staff could still be infected and you have to shut everything down again.

The antibody tests and all the information along with that will go a long way. I'm no expert but it seems like if you had COVID and developed the antibodies, that should hold you over until the vaccine comes. That should get people back to work but is that enough to have fans attending games? Do the teams write in some language to the tickets that they're not responsible for anything related to COVID spread? I really have no idea because this stuff changes so quickly. Everyone hoped when the league shut down they could maybe be back by May or June. Nearly a month later, the president who is notorious for wanting to open the country back up as quick as possible is saying he's hoping fans could be back at games and shows by August or September. The virus isn't going anywhere so I don't see how you could have sports again until it's resolved.

I think the NFL is going to be the league that opens on time but I have a really hard time seeing the NHl or NBA playout this current season. They’re done.

the nfl playing once a week as opposed to baseball everyday I think it makes it easier to start by then

It would be a matter of time before it ran right through an NHL team or two. We already know several NHL players have tested positive. It's rare that it kills young and very fit people but it can if they have underlying issues. Kaapo Kakko has some underlying issues. Would we want to take a chance with him? f*** no. Then it's likely to pop up here and pop up there and I'm not sure what you'd do if it was in St. Louis and Raleigh one month and Denver and Boston the next month. How do you keep the players safe?--how do you schedule around issues that can pop up anyplace at anytime? And the fans? I don't see things happening until there is a real sense of certainty and a vaccine would do that but it would have to cover ordinary people too or how else do you pack fans into an arena?---or a plane for that matter?

If there's an NHL season I think it starts late--at the earliest in December--at the latest early February. After that point might as well call the season. I'm already thinking no MLB or NFL season.
