Nah, bidet attachments are basic plumbing. Just need channel locks/c-wrench and to know how to turn off your water supply to the toilet, which should be on the wall behind it.

Upstate our county and the counties around us have closed schools until April. Would not surprise me if that gets extended.

I have a cold right now. I got it from my wife. It's not in the chest--it's all in the head--sinuses and a bit in the throat. Nose is getting a bit raw from sneezing and blowing it. It's that time of year when the temperature fluctuates a lot.....that a lot of people are prone to shit like this.

Some people are pretty whacky---when I saw the doctor this week (my 6 month bi-annual checkup) while waiting in the lobby this lady drives up and her license plate is 'HPYBTHDY'---I'm like Happy Birthday....what kind of nut is this? She comes in the lady at the desk asks her her birthday--she doesn't want to say. Then she says 4-24 something. Next thing she's wondering if she's going to have to wait long because she's afraid some of the 3 or 4 of us who are waiting to get called in might have coronavirus. So she ends up back waiting out in her car. Freaked I guess. She should get another license plate if she's so touchy about people finding out her birthday.

But anyway the run on toilet paper. Some guy coming in with this story about buying $200 worth. What's that like two years worth?

I'm going to try to be as rational as possible throughout this. The back and forth to the grocery store when necessary is going to be my major activity. No bars--no restaurants--no trips--if I want to talk to somebody I'll call them. If someone wants to talk to me they can do the same. There are no guarantees that I'll successfully avoid but I think my chances will improve the less I do. I'm reminded of a pithy remark once made by the French philosopher Blaise Pascal--'all the world's problems are caused by people who don't know how to sit quietly in their own houses'. So I'm going to see how that works.

It would be nice if people would post something reassuring once in a while...
Once more and more states lockdown over the next few days, come back in a week and a half when we've gotten over the hump for the virus. Other countries that acted earlier are already hitting that hump and showing rates slowing down and decreasing.

Until then...not much to do but wait.

0.002% of the world population has contracted the virus. The vast vast majority of those people have or will fully recover. If you are unlucky enough to catch it, you are most likely to experience very mild illness and recover within two weeks. Take a deep breath, wash your hands regularly, and use the next couple weeks to slow down and focus on yourself. The drastic measures being taken in our city are not because things are out of control but to ensure they don't become that way.

When I can come into contact with other human beings I'll buy you a Corona. ;)

This is the most common sense thing I have read since this started. No fear, No panic, just facts.

Which countries are those, other than China and South Korea?

Not challenging - genuinely curious.

My agency still hasn't said anything despite Cuomo's tweet. Guess I'm waking up at 6:00AM to call the employee emergency hotline

Taiwan, parts of Italy (see below), and a few other SE Asian countries.

Pretty much anywhere that locked down early (mid-late February) are now seeing new cases and whatnot plateauing, whereas a lot of places that locked down later are still increasing, though they will plateau soon-ish. The US is going to be in for a rude awakening soon, but better late than never for locking down like some states are doing. The results from doing so won't be immediate, but they will happen.

It's going to get bad before it gets better. It will get better. It's just that places like the US reacted too slowly, and will pay for the consequences.

EDIT: Since it's on the previous page, here is some literature and thanks to @GordonGecko for also posting

We have JUST gone into full lockdown 2-4 days ago in Europe, following the massive outbreak in Italy, and we''ll review in the next few days. In Norway, ports and airports are now locked. public gatherings forbidden under law, even private parties etc are forbidden to combat the potential spread of the virus.

In Spain you are now forbidden from leaving your home unless neccesary. Italy is completely locked down but experienced their highest mortality day so far yesterday. Over 1500 people have now died in the outbreak in Italy.

Most European countries have different version of travel/entry bans, all gatherings suspended, spors cancelled, etc. If you dont HAVE to leave your home, you are not leaving your home.

In Norway where I live, SAS (Massive scandinavian airline) just sent 90% of their employees on leave. Small businesses by the thousands are doing the same. The state is offering up massive financial packages to stem the bleeding. I imagine other nations will be doing the same.

The uplifiting news is that China are reporting single digit new infected yesterday. The outbreak in Wuhan is entirely under control, businesses have been allowed to start operating again. Assuming what the Chinese are reporting is accurate, but we have every reason to believe it is. China compeltely and agressively quarantined the Hubei province and its citizens and its paid off. Europe are now following suit, and the US have to follow the example or you're going to ride this outbreak for a full year and thousands elderly, infacts and otherwise immunocompromised will perish.

Pretty much. A lot of the Eastern Asia countries are hitting the plateau, whereas Europe is probably a week out from hitting it, though some parts of Italy are there.

The US is probably going to hit it by the end of March/early April if the completely lockdown in the next day or so, or we'll at least see some states getting there sooner. But because there was so much of a delay to do these lockdowns, there will still be a big increase in cases. But not to fret, the social distancing and lockdown WILL be effective.
