If it makes you feel better, Coffey was literally his coach in the OHL and Steve Staois literally drafted him into the OHL. Both of them were reportedly screaming for us to take him and we're overruled by Wright.

It'd kind of a weird one. His stats weren't great in D-1 with 30 points in 53 games. He didn't play in his draft year. Central scouting had him ranked as the 16th ranked NA skater behind Bourgault, Pinelli and others. 21 other teams passed on him and now he would likely go first overall.

I might be a bit biased being a 90s kid but Lidstrom is the most complete defensemen I have seen in the modern era. Bouchard is great but doesn’t come close to Lidstrom in my opinion

Bobby Orr is the best defensemen of all time but I do think that Lidstrom is the best defenseman we have seen in the modern era
Yeh that’s probably true. I didn’t watch Orr though but considering the stats, you are probably right. Orr wasn’t in the list in the original post I replied to though.

Said this after Game 7, we just saw the first signs from Skinner that this could happen. Sharp as f*** tonight:

Best part of tonight and I know half these boards will hate this take. But this could be huge for Skinnners confidence. The best Stu we saw all year was when he beat Fuhr’s all time record. We all saw it, he was sharp as f*** during that streak. If he gets to that level again, we willl be fine in net moving forward.

Physiologist and conditioning specialist who worked with end of career Mike Smith (in a coordinated effort with Schwartz). View this as a positive as Skinner isn't necessarily an innately athletic tender.
Yeh it’s a positive for sure. He also worked with like 10+ NHL goalies too. Has been working with Skinner since November, and since that time we’ve seen Skinner have great stretches of elite goaltending like during our 16 game win streak where he broke Fuhr’s record. Reading about this guy, hes been specializing in working with goalies for 10 years now and works on both technique for better saves and better health. He also helps with the mental game, suggesting a zen like atttiude (which Stu has).

Yeh this is a good thing, it also doesn’t necessarily mean Schwartz is out. We also don’t know the extent to which he works with Skinner other than this tidbit that was blurted by non-Oiler Insiders on a broadcast. I wonder why we haven’t heard this news till today.

I am from germany and I consider to fly to Edmonton for game 3/4...Do someone know a serious Ticket Portal where I could buy tickets for one or two of these games?

Before I go to my boss and tell him that I am on not at work and I buy a flight it would be awesome to know to have a sure ticket.

Thanks in advance.

He doesn't replace Schwartz's work with their goaltenders but rather works in conjunction with him. He's a high performance trainer who specializes in physiology aspects of the position, not technical. His work is broader than goaltenders though the modern era position has a lot of specialized need given the style of game being played is so hard on the body. 1,000 NHL game forward Andrew Ladd when he retired credited Francilia as his trainer from the age of 13.

It's not really big news as goaltenders often tap into multiple specialized support people and in conjunction with the team and oversight of their goaltender coach.

Ticketmaster is probably the most convenient. StubHub and Seat Geek are two more sites.

I could see that actually. Lol.

I don’t want to get into this right now. But there was a subjective question regarding control on that play. That is up for debate and not as cut and dry as SN would have you beleive.

Naw had nothing to do with control nor possession. It was a delayed offside that was executed in 2 seconds

Don't look NHL post season scoring stats right now if you are non-Oilers fan.

About the G1, Dallas was supposed to be rested, they skated less than Oil and were step behind most of the game.

They would need Hintz like I said before, their opening game lacks speed and skills. If they rush Hintz back with 80 % condition, it is only going to hurt them more.

Petrovic and Suter were in deep trouble, even Tanev and Lindell struggled. Will be tougher for them in next games when wear and tear comes to bite plus we get the home ice advantage in G3 and G4. Keep hitting them like there is no tomorrow. Noticed few times that their D-men were avoiding Kane and when he was then past the hitting chance, Holloway came out of nowhere and boom. Nice combo we have there.

McDavid has entered in this series and I am here for all that. Let's see if DeBoer has any answers.

Bouchard with an assist on the winning goal, and was +3 on the night, now +13 overall in these playoffs. Thought he was great tonight. What a play on the winning goal.

Nice to see Connor kind of redeem himself by getting the winner after missing what seemed like a sure goal in the first OT. Thought his skating looked better than any of the games against the Nucks; he was very, very good.

Stu was fantastic.
Is it only me, but don't Bouchard give a feeling of Pronger 2006, but without the dirtiness....?
