Adrien Hernandez is a name to watch out for.

Now in Buffalo and has been dominant so far in high leverage spots.

124 strikeouts in 72.1 innings pitched over the past two seasons in AA/AAA.

Rowdy with an OPS+ of 175 and leading the NL in RBI.

Really happy for him … but also that trade probably deserves a bit of criticism given our struggles to get a LH power bat in the lineup.

I remember people were happy he was traded
What kind of revisionist history are you trying to pull?

A one-position player struggling to hit and out of options for Richards (who helped stabilize last year's pen) and Francis is a good deal regardless of Rowdy becoming the player we hoped he'd be.

You seem to be ignoring the fact that he was on the verge of being waived.

There is literally no scenario where Rowdy had a long term future in Toronto. It is much easier to just wish the guy well and be happy he has found a home then get all bent out of shape something that was never going to happen here....didn't happen here.

But with Vlad, where does he play? They want a rotating DH so there was no room for him.

The rotating DH is mostly for the benefit of Guerrero and Springer. You would have been able to rotate Springer into the DH spot against LH starters and obviously Guerrero could have been rotated with Rowdy playing 1B.

And we're certainly not locked into the rotating DH given the Nelson Cruz rumours last year.

Given our struggles to find a LH power bat to offset our string of RH hitters, it stings a bit that we just traded away a young guy raking the way that Rowdy is now.

Not a fan of where we're at. 3 games out of first, 1.5 out of second, -9 run differential. The Yanks are already +49. They need to really get going.

The team has had an insanely difficult schedule. 20 of the first 26 games were against playoff teams from last year. The fact that the team has grinded out a 17-12 (likely 18-12 after today) record against this difficult schedule with so many players struggling or injured is a good sign. This lineup is going to heat up eventually.

The team also rotated in Kirk, Jansen, and the outfielders. Tellez had a difficult time getting into the lineup and that would have continued. I doubt he would have done as well with getting limited playing time.

Cruz is different than Tellez. Tellez was struggling.

The only option was to trade him.

Yeah if anything I'm optimistic after this start.

The fact we are where we are with our bats not really swinging, says it all for me.

The rotation has given us some huge wins and bullpen has been really good for most part.

We've had a lot of tight games but when we play some of the weaker teams like the Yanks have faced, I expect bats to wake up. 162 game season after all.

My concerns with the team is a fourth OF and a few bullpen arms.

Fair concerns. I'd say it's a good concern to have honestly compared to most teams. I don't love the Grichuk trade but that was hindsight too (I thought Tapia would do and then there was the lotto ticket prospect).

Cimber hasn’t been quite as sharp as when he first got here a year or so ago. I thnk he was much better and good control. Not quite as good this year.

So glad were starting to play lesser competition lol
