I wanna like this again lolThis didn't age well lol
Rowdy with an OPS+ of 175 and leading the NL in RBI.
Really happy for him … but also that trade probably deserves a bit of criticism given our struggles to get a LH power bat in the lineup.

What kind of revisionist history are you trying to pull?I remember people were happy he was traded
But with Vlad, where does he play? They want a rotating DH so there was no room for him.
Not a fan of where we're at. 3 games out of first, 1.5 out of second, -9 run differential. The Yanks are already +49. They need to really get going.
The team also rotated in Kirk, Jansen, and the outfielders. Tellez had a difficult time getting into the lineup and that would have continued. I doubt he would have done as well with getting limited playing time. The rotating DH is mostly for the benefit of Guerrero and Springer. You would have been able to rotate Springer into the DH spot against LH starters and obviously Guerrero could have been rotated with Rowdy playing 1B.
And we're certainly not locked into the rotating DH given the Nelson Cruz rumours last year.
Given our struggles to find a LH power bat to offset our string of RH hitters, it stings a bit that we just traded away a young guy raking the way that Rowdy is now.
Yeah if anything I'm optimistic after this start. The team has had an insanely difficult schedule. 20 of the first 26 games were against playoff teams from last year. The fact that the team has grinded out a 17-12 (likely 18-12 after today) record against this difficult schedule with so many players struggling or injured is a good sign. This lineup is going to heat up eventually.

The fact we are where we are with our bats not really swinging, says it all for me.
The rotation has given us some huge wins and bullpen has been really good for most part.
We've had a lot of tight games but when we play some of the weaker teams like the Yanks have faced, I expect bats to wake up. 162 game season after all.
Fair concerns. I'd say it's a good concern to have honestly compared to most teams. I don't love the Grichuk trade but that was hindsight too (I thought Tapia would do and then there was the lotto ticket prospect). My concerns with the team is a fourth OF and a few bullpen arms.
