I'd like them to go to Asia one day. And if they were to switch to a four-group format, the host cities could be Beijing, Seoul, Vladivostok and Nagano.

How can a country with that many German and Czech immigrants not have good beer? Like, I can't think of a single one, but it seems like they should be halfway decent at this.

We do have quite a few good beers. The problem is they're small breweries that don't generally export so you guys tend to get the beers from the large macrobrewers and think that's representative of all American beer. Heck, sometimes brewers don't distribute into the next state over. I live in North Carolina which borders four states - Virginia, Tennessee, Georgia, and South Carolina. My wife and I went on vacation in Savannah, Georgia a couple years ago and visited 3-4 breweries that don't distribute here, about 550 KM away. Also distressing is that as some microbrewers have gotten more successful they've gotten purchased by larger brewers. Here in North Carolina, Wicked Weed, based in the town of Asheville, was getting national renown for their barrel-aged beers and their sour beers. Last week it was announced they'd been purchased by Anheuser-Busch. They'll still make their same beers (they won't suddenly start making Budweiser, for instance) but other breweries purchased by AB-InBev have seen their quality decline in the years after the purchase.

Anyway, I myself have helped take this further off topic, so let's get back towards discussion of Paris as a venue as opposed to beers.

Back on topic.. Glad they chose Paris and France even with the complaints. Seem to be well attended and the French are really digging it. Hoping France does well and gets a QF spot. The place would explo... uhm.. go nuts!

That right there.
I tried getting drunk on Kölsch once. It was the buzz I had to work for the hardest in my entire life. The stuff just runs through like water. But to each their own, let them drink Kölsch and if there's another option around I'll gladly take that one.

For the record I've been to all the Germany games and over 18.5k fans and a great atmosphere every-time. It's basically full for any Russia or Sweden game also.

Wishing you a great time!

And I'm glad to hear the atmosphere was great so far. It's kinda ridiculous how much I look forward to tomorrow. I picked the last day of group games in the hopes that not all is going to be decided, and I sure hope the games are going to be great. The Swedish fans seemed great on TV so far, too, and I fully expect a lot of fun during USA-Russia, too. (As long as Provorov plays and I at least get to see the lone Flyers player in group A...)

Sorry guys, this is partially my own fault for furthering it along, but we're at last call (see what I did there?) on the beer discussion. Keep it on topic of the Paris games from here on out. That said, I'll gladly bring up to the powers that be the idea of creating a food & beverage forum with hopes (or hops?) of great in-depth beer discussion over there

The Sweden Denmark game wasn't full by any means although the lower bowl wasn't to far off
