This is my 8th championships in 9 years and this quickly becoming the most unfriendly fan games I have been to. There is nothing going on outside of the arenas and entertainment between games is nonexistent and do not get me started on the lack of organisation and communication.

There is no place for hockey in Paris. No promotion whatsoever. And they are absolutely clueless how to organise a hockey game. Lack of supplies, soon after the game starts they're running out of food and drinks, no replays of the scoring chances/saves/etc. at all, horrible ice. They can't even figure out how to pronounce names correctly. "Peeeetheehr Mhreezzzeeecee" lol. Very dissapointed about Paris.

I don't want to call it a joke. But very little thought went into the games. Talked to an IIHF guy I know and asked him where the original plans for either the beer garden or fan zone was supposed to be and he said if I find out let him know. The French keep saying go to the cafes to watch the games. French cafes are some of the most expensive on the planet. There is zero atmosphere around the arena

Said it before, and i will say it again, don't come to France if you want to organise a decent hockey venue. We are not a hockey country, and Paris is as clueless/expensive/shallow as any overrated city can be. Lyon or Grenoble would have been a better location (at least there is some hockey culture in that region, + its close to the swiss borders)

The games on TV are on a pay per view channel (that EVERYONE hates with passion, worse that Sportsnet)

What did you expect? It is understandable given the fact there is no fanzone + it is damn Paris.

Good thing is that the play-offs games are going to be in Lanxess arena.

What kind of atmosphere do you expect today for France v Norway? Are all France games sold out?

Usually around the arena you have a lot of stuff going on. The fins just came out of the arena and they seemed lost.there are three games today and usually the place would be rocking

This is why hockey is better in smaller towns where you got space to open stuff and let the fans party outside the rink before and after the games.

Would it surprise you if i say i don't/can't watch France games ? that TV station is horrible !! i don't have any info, i'm not in Paris, and the promotion for this venue is non existant :shakehead

If you go to hockey game in Paris, you can't expect the same as if you were in Prague, especially in terms of WHC.

The party is usually in the beer garden regardless of where the games are played. French organisers have put no thought into the games and fan participation in between games.

If I went to Paris for WHC this year, then I would not epxect much in terms of hockey entertainment, I would approach it as If I were to visit and see Paris as a city, and then switch to hockey mode once I am at the game. You pretty much need to count with it.

The name thing seems like a sumb complaint, you'll have that most places. Pens announcers and comnentators still can't say Kühnhackl and he is playing there for more than two weeks. Everything East and North of Germany may be better equipped to proununce the Eastern European names, but you won't find a place that gets them all right.

That said, Paris was a doomed idea from the start. 2010 was great, no plan why they had to make Germany share this. It's not like there is another new, beautiful 18k hockey arena in Düsseldorf. 40 minutes from Cologne.

That's pretty much everyone's guess at this point. However, ISS Dome holds a capacity crowd of 13,400 iirc. Although I am very sure they could upgrade it to 16,000-ish with a few installation arrangements here and there.

Oops, my bad. I remembered it being about the same as Cologne for some reason. Still would have likely averaged higher attendance than Paris in the end.

Bad organization in France? You don't say! How have you liked the service there? I'd be shocked to hear that the people selling you beer and food are slow as snails.

The organising at the Euro 2016 last summer was terrible too. I couldn't help thinking how much better it would have been in a country like Germany.

What do you expect for next year's tournament, how big is this tournament in Denmark?

Small countries tend to support their teams in every sport (small nation nationalism and mentality). Whether you're a football, basketball or pocket pool fan. It's going to be huge in Denmark.

Even though the attendance figures are not all that great in Paris so far, it's still better than the numbers they pulled in Russia last year.

I lived in paris for a year. Saw everything then

Was the Slovenia/Swiss game in Paris? Because they took forever to begin the shootout.
