Dorion was a shit GM.
If you could wave a magic wand and swap in a different "league average" GM for Dorion right at the start of his tenure, how would things be different?
Would we have kept karl? Could we have kept karl? How would the stone and turris trades have rolled out (if at all)?
Would we have gone full rebuild? Contenders? Perpetual bubble team?
I realize this is an impossible task and there's too many variables to consider here...but in broad strokes what do you see as the major lynchpin moments in our recent history that would have played out differently under most other not-so-shitty GMs?
Try to be as fair as possible, no crazy hindsight. No cheating. If you think we would have won a bunch of cups you're likely wrong (although that one run...).
This poor bastard still has Melnyk and the budget and he doesn't have a crystal ball to know in advance how draft selections or trades will pan out.
What do you think?
