Hard to bet against Dallas when they have won the last 2-3 meetings in the playoffs? Dallas got deeper offensively same for the Avs. If we can get secondary scoring while our defense tighten up I like our chances. I wonder how Heiskanen will look when he comes back dude always play his A game vs the Avs in the playoffs.

I like a full healthy Colorado more, but that’s always a concern. Adding Nelson and Coyle, and if Nuke and Drouin are in the lineup and fully engaged, they actually have the depth to match Dallas along with better team speed and the two biggest gamebreakers between them in MacK and Makar. Throw in Blackwood likely being a big improvement on Georgiev from last year’s series, and I think the Avs would take it this time.

I really like Dallas. They've got the best top 9 forward group in the league, and I'd have a hard time finding a goalie I'd take over Otter in a 7 game series. But that defence is just so.. yikes. Heiskanen and Harley are great. Bischel could be a playoff beast. But any group that's relying on Lybushkin, Ceci, Dumba... yea that's a yikes.

Colorado meanwhile has two players better than anyone on Dallas, a solid D core, a top 9 forward group that's almost as good, and a goalie that's a lot better than he's given credit for in Blackwood.

I'd take the Avs if I had a gun to my head. But as someone with no horse in this race, it'll be a great matchup. It's just a damn shame this awful playoff format makes it happen in the 1st round. Reality is it should be Winnipeg vs 8, Dallas vs Min/LA, Vegas vs LA/Min, Colorado vs Edmonton, leaving a likely scenario where this is the WCF

If we're judging by the game last night...I'd be concerned if I were Dallas. The game was nowhere near as close as the score

If we are judging by the regular season then we are already judging incorrectly

Avs dominated the Stars in the regular season last year. Just like how the Jets dominated the Avs in the regular season too, or how Dallas was swept by Vegas in the regular season. Just doesn't mean anything at all

The most recent game matters more than results from last season

Regular season means nothing man lol.

Dallas has lost their season series to most teams they’ve eliminated over the last few years, and won the season series against the teams that have knocked them out.

Dallas has the edge.

Every year these teams play against each other, the arguments as to why the Avs are favourites never come through and the Stars always prevail because of their depth. And now they got one of the Avs best playoff performers without losing a major impact roster player.

The only thing that is different this year is Stars may be without Miro which will hurt their chances of winning and makes it more of a 50/50 split.

Regardless, it will go the distance like usual and should be one hell of a series if it happens.
