The Kings currently hold the 2nd wildcard spot, but are tied with 9th place Winnipeg at 90 points. Both teams have 5 games left in the regular season. Sportsclubstats has the Kings listed as having a 71.1% chance of getting into the postseason, while Winnipeg sits at 47.2%, probably owing to their tougher schedule.
The Avalanche are on the outside looking in, with their postseason hopes almost gone. With only 4 games left, they are 6 points back of the 2nd wildcard spot. They are tied with Dallas at 84 points, but sit at 12th in the Conference since they lose the tiebreaker. Sportsclubstats has the Avs listed at a 0.0009% chance of getting into the postseason.
