I honestly believe we basically were given a reprieve here and a chance to reorient the team. I do not believe Mikko could play a part in turning this around. If you do, I'm sorry. We will just never see eye to eye.

I said in the post you quoted that I understand why they traded him and thought they couldn't build a contending team around another $12M+ salary.

What I've clearly disagreed with is the general piling on Mikko after the trade, the commentary about him not being that important to the team, and that he should have turned down $10-20M more than what he could get on the market.

You haven't addressed any of that. You've just shit all over an all time great Avalanche, told me to f*** off, and then said you're thinking about this logically not emotionally.

Rantanen is a good overall offensive player. He has an insane shot, good vision, and is a solid passer.

With that said, omfg he was a trash powerplay player. Yes, he got a ton of powerplay goals by standing there getting to play with Nuke, Makar, and MacKinnon. You gotta capitalise on those and he did, but damn when he tried to make plays, it was an automatic clearance. Forced too many plays big-time.

I don't mean anything by it. I'm just a sailor.

We don't got to go down this way. I'll just say, I probably shouldn't have said F off, but then again if you are taking that seriously from me you have not been paying attention.
