Let's suppose that the Stars consider letting Lindy Ruff go this season, who would be the ideal choice to come in and take over the reins? This is not meant to be serious, Im sure Lindy will be back, but instead it's fun speculation.

I think Hitchcock coming back for a reunion is an intriguing thought. Maybe Babcock comes south to team up with Jimmy Nill? Fun to consider the possibilities.

Link doesn't work.

I'd like to wait and see if we couldn't snag Tippett again, if possible.

Babcock would be a pipedream.

Ruff is staying this season, though. Almost assuredly.

If Tippett stays in Arizona this summer, he's in it for the long run with the talent they will be getting.

They're not gonna be much better next season. Tippett's also known for not wanting to play kids, which is not going to go over well with Arizona.

I don't think Lindy will be fired and I really don't want him to either as I think he is a good coach. But for the sake of speculation...

Babcock would be ideal, but unfortunately I don't see that as realistic.
I'd like Tippett if he's available, I do have significant concerns about his affinity for playing vets over younger players but you can't question his defensive resume.
Paul MacLean would be a good choice, I think Ottawa were absolutely moronic to fire him and I think they will regret the decision.
Todd McLellan is on the hot seat and if fired, would be one of the top coaches available. Both McLellan and MacLean were assistants under Babcock so I would assume there is some familiarity with Nill as well. Also, I really wouldn't want to go with a young guy.
