Anyone else feel like this group of U23 players is just extremely underwhelming? I mean, on a relative basis to the rest of the NHL.

A few people have mentioned the same. I think it has a lot to do with a very strong class graduating a couple of weaker drafts which left us with an uninspiring 22 year old group.

Usually in U23, the list will mainly be 22 year olds but Svech is the only one who really belongs. From his draft class, Kotkaniemi, Hayton, Zadina, Kravstov....oof! And Brady was old for his class so he actually graduated when he turned 23.

This poll should be headlined by 2018 draftees but the draft was a bit of a dud.

2019 draft had a lot of top pick misses (so far) in: Kakko, Dach, Turcotte

2020: Laf and Byfield have yet to break out, while Quinn, Holtz, Rossi have been in the AHL. All 5 could be stars by next season.

2021 is still too early
