I’m not against trading Kreider after the season. But with his contract and now we’ll he’s playing, he’s become an elite pp specialist. But unfortunately for the Rangers we’re tied up with so much salary, so I can see teams lining up for him that need to take on contracts. And now it’s the perfect time to take advantage of his play for the Rangers to make a move in the off season. For sure not during the season because we need him. But if we can get a decent package it’s hard to say no.

it’s unpredictable to say how many goals he’ll finish up. Between 30-50 with 50 not being realistic. I can see him finishing around 35!

Cause we have so many players locked up and we’re going to have to make a move, how are we going to sign Kakko and look for a number one center with contracts loaded up. Explain

Now is not the time to discuss cap issue moves. Rangers aren’t there yet, and Kakko is not going to get a Jack Hughes type deal.

just gotta hope he plays well next season because he was one of the worst contracts until he started scoring goals. Because if it’s just a hot year then he’s u touchable for the wrong reasons.

Has an NMC and loves NY.
Yep. What makes markets attractive for ufas is also what makes it attractive for guys to remain there even though from a team POV they may want to move the player. When you hold a mnc for the next 2 years after this before it drops to a mntc you can do whatever you want.

trouba, Panarin, Zib hold full ntc for a while. Why would any of them waive either?
When you sign the ufa deals that is what you have to give up.

I want another top tier center, or a lesser version for that matter. We need a producer than plays a ton of minutes that can win face offs.
Guys with full nmc for the next couple of years in a winning club don’t generally waive them.

so, don’t expect him to get moved.

This thread is classic HFBoard entertainment.

The Rangers and Kreider are killing it, much to my dismay.

If the enemy of good is perfect, what is the enemy of nearly perfect?

we will eke by next year cap wise.

End of the following year, Trouba's nmc ceases.
He is 111% going by then if not before b'c we have elc Schneider replacing.

He controls thru then.

Best chance is say look, do us a favor, we will give a backscratch now and owe you a favor when you retire. Go there, and we will bend over backwards to make you as closer to happy camper as possible.
Or you can play hardball and have your way for another year, and then we will trade your ass as suits us without consideration of your position.

Trouba has found his game and is a valued contributor.
He is now worth most of what he's paid.

The reason this thread exists (besides the OP's seemingly compulsive needs to create threads on the main boards) is because we've been discussing on the Rangers board the possibility of him being moved. One of our "insiders" brought it up as something that will be discussed, or is being discussed, among management. And it's not because they don't like Kreider, or not want him, but because we may need to move him to fill other holes on the roster, specifically the 2C spot. Strome is a pending UFA and we don't have a lot of cap space to re-sign him, or a suitable replacement.

Yes, he still has an NMC and believe me, you don't want to read the arguments about whether or not he will waive it. But suffice to say that it could be an option for the Rangers in the offseason depending on what else they want to do.

Trouba’s nmc runs through the 23-24 season.

Kreider has final say with the nmc regardless of what the Rangers want to do until the time comes when his full nmc drops to a mntc a couple of years from now.

how many guys who contribute on good teams get moved when they have nmc?

he’s not exactly Tyler Johnson of TB who dropped in production, but who was still there til his full ntc dropped to a mntc.

If Kreider is moved, it'll because he has been surpassed on the LW depth chart and/or is a cap casualty. Plus he has a NTC. All this means the return will be underwhelming.

I'm not interested in debating whether he will or will not waive. If that's of interest to you, see the Roster Building thread on the Rangers board.

Why would the Rags trade one of their best players? The want a Kings ransom for players like Chytil and Kravtsov then want to dump a good 2 way winger like Kreider?

Why does everyone want a ransom from the Kings?
