Considering the disparity because most pre-draft lists, I bet most NHL teams usually pick a player in the 2nd round they had rated as a 1st round pick.

Of course, if either or both leave, the Leafs have that cap space, to go shopping.
If both re-sign, their young defenders will all be a year more experienced, and their top prospect will all be a year older.
The missing picks become relevant 2026 at the earliest, and considering their picks are going to be (unless disaster happens) late 20's.
Leafs are all in for the next 2-3 years, and if they get re-signs from their core, drafts that have already taken place are going to be their coming of age assets.
Current picks are currency.

What we need to know is whether the chef has prepared the food for a feast, or if the duck is tough.
Don't have the assets to make that deal. If they did they, they'd best try to bring Crouse in the mix tooLeafs need to add some "muscle" to their D-line. Bunch of soft ass D-men we got (excluding Sandin/Lily and to a certain extent Gio)
